Did anyone watch the third SLOOH segment in which Lucie Green appeared and talked about solar flares? Well she mentioned a big one (I can't remember the name of it - didn't it begin with a C?) which expands when it approaches the earth so the earth ends up dwarfed by it…and that would cause quite a bit of damage? Anyway am I right in assuming she said that could potentially happen tomorrow? Or is it just my worry clouding my mind? It was hard to keep up because she kept going offline.
If someone could explain this to me that would be awesome.

Hi, 1st things i would like to thank you ever so much for this website it has kept me calm over the past few weeks and months since i found it and i have even passed it on to other people who are abit anxious aswell that i know at work (i work and i'm worried bout something so silly and preposterous). i took it on myself to do my own research and look up proper website and i found it quite interesting to be honest history and archaeology has always been a little interest since i was i school.

But there is one little thing i over heard today while getting on with my day as normal, how much truth if any is in, that the maya predicted the japan earthquake last year?
im just wondering. it sounds a bit out there, but i thought id asked.

It just occurred to me that every so called 'doomsday prediction' has ultimately failed…so why do these people keep setting a certain date even though they'll just be proven wrong and end up looking like absolute idiots? Shouldn't they have learned by now?

Also, is it normal to accept all of the facts on this site on a logical level yet still be worried about the actual date? I feel a bit stupid for feeling like this but this 2012 thing has affected me a great deal…And even though I'm trying not to worry I can't stop looking up at the sky just to re-convince myself.

If we are to believe that Nostradamus predicted an apocalyptic event in 2012, then we must then ignore the fact that his quatrains extend well beyond 2012. In fact his quatrains reach out to ~3790 AD. So either the world does not end in 2012 and Nostradamus' subsequent predictions are wrong, or Nostradamus' predictions after 2012 are correct, and the prediction about 2012 is wrong. This dilemma is rarely discussed by proponents.

There is a third option, that his predictions are true but predict something other than the complete end of earth. His doomsday predictions could mark an upheaval or large loss of life (but not complete). If that was the case, then this allows for predictions to continue past 2012. To be honest, this quote is sloppy work.

Also, I was disappointed to see no mention of his prophetic sketches and hoax-interpretations of them being discussed. It did feature in Nostradamus 2012 documentary by History Channel.

I've been afraid of this approaching date for years now. you would think that I'd be too smart to fall for it—I'm well-educated, middle aged, and I have a good head on my shoulders. But I also live with chronic depression, panic disorder, I've had a ridiculous amount of violence and trauma in my life, and all of that has left me ultra-vulnerable.

I'm having a very rough day today. Thanksgiving is over, it kind of feels like the 12/21 countdown has begun in earnest. My agreement with myself ever since this fear arose for me in 2009 was that I would not under any circumstances share it with friends. That I would protect them, knowing the effect it has on me when I hear that someone else is genuinely afraid. So I don't. My therapist knows. She is not available for calls on the weekends. And today I want more than anything to talk to someone.

I love David Morrison's videos and articles, I love the work that you all are doing. I think the "managing your fears" page is very useful and supportive. But sometimes, I can't even deal with reassurance without getting triggered. This morning, at my church, we had a wonderful sermon on worst-case scenarios. It was all about the end of the world from a Christian perspective. My minister knows exactly what my baggage is with all this. I should have been able to draw comfort from her words, but I came away in a state of panic and right now I'm unable to return phone calls.

I have a responsible job to go back to tomorrow, I'm a very good musician, a writer, and I have a dog whom I love to pieces. At the moment, I can't draw on any of that. I told my boyfriend about all this briefly back in the summer, and I don't think he really understood the power my fear has over me sometimes. So I have dropped the subject and I feel very far away from him.

So here's my concern: how do you talk to friends and loved ones about your own fear (if you do at all), when it's really really bad for you to be alone with it?

I read about him on here first, then went to his wiki page. Hearing that other scientists think he's credible, and the fact that he quit his job and everything makes me nervous.
