i was on the internet and one of my doomsday believer friends sent me a link to weeklyworldnews. jsut to tell you, they are spewing some of the worlds worst tabloid stories i ever heard, hehe, and i was afraid of them before, but not now. now there saying these headlines.

1. FACEBOOK TO SHUT DOWN JANUARY 15TH 2013! (already a lie)

2. END OF THE WORLD POSTPONED TO 2015!(that is physically impossible to do that.)

3 OBAMA WILL SEEK THIRD TERM! ( a president can have no longer than 8 years in term)

4.PSY TO PERFORM AT SUPER BOWL! (that actually sounds awesome :D)

5. HOW TO SELL YOUR SOUL TO THE DEVIL!(why in the world would anybody do that!?)

6. (this one seems funny) BAT BOY SAVES EARTH ON 12/21/2012!

so to say, weeklyworldnews is still going at it with crappy tabloid stories. :L

Why should you be happy in this coming year? Many lucky things are about to happen according to Feng Shui master Raymond Ho.

1. 13, to many people, is actually a very lucky number. Dan Marino, a football player wore #13 jersey and is known for running the 3rd most yards in NFL history. In Italy, 13 is a lucky number with many Italians tattooing the number somewhere on their bodies. The list goes on as to why 13 can be a lucky number.

2. 7 is a lucky number all over the world… and according to the Chinese Zodiac, we are entering the year of the Snake, whose elemental is Fire. It's been 7 years since Fire was the element of the year. again 7 is a lucky number.

3. This was the year of the dragon. According to Master Ho, the Dragon's elemental is water. Water is fear… that is why we saw so much turmoil in 2012. Especially in the winter months (the doomsday prophecies, the shootings, the fiscal cliff.) The opposite of water is Fire, the elemental we are moving into. Fire represents happiness and hope. It's that burning desire in us all to do great things, to live our dreams, to be better people and help make the world a better place.

So this year is to be a lucky year. As we leave this old year behind… think positive thoughts. If you think positively… Those thoughts will carry over into a new year full of hope and potential.

So Happy New Year everyone! Everyone knows the song "Auld Lang Syne" right? (Auld Lang Syne meaning "Times Gone By"). Well I discovered I've been singing the lyrics wrong all these years… but I like my way better. lol

When I was in sixth grade 5 years ago I remember a fellow student of mine who told me that he watched a show about the 2012 Mayan apocalypse. He told me that a giant volcano is going to erupt and end the world. I later watched the show he was talking about and I remember being so terrified. The show explained how the Mayan calendar ends on 2012 and therefore the world goes with it. But the show also brought hope that if we collected the 13 crystal skulls and brought them to some temple, we would all be saved. This left me in fear for months. I was a kid who wasn't able to to think critically. How was I supposed to cope?

I remember having bouts of fear which would vary from crippling fear to slight worries and everything in between. I remember seeing tabloids in supermarkets which spoke of psychics predicting that the world is going to end soon. I even remember watching terminator 2 with my friends and upon viewing the sun destroying the world in the film (At least I think that's what happens lol) my friend says "isn't the world supposed to blow up on 2012". This sent me in one of the worst bouts of fear I've ever had, it was hard to even look at my family in fear that they would die.

Sometime after that after various bouts of fear I finally started to do some research on this issue. And it just so happens that I found this site. I read pretty much the entire site, came to it daily at one point. My fears drastically decreased. The only remaining fears I had were these hypothetical "what if the world ends anyway" scenarios (completely ridiculous I know, but it's hard to calm down the young mind when it is threatened with destruction on a planetary scale).

I came to realize why I didn't do any research on this subject beforehand. It was because I was afraid of my fears being validated. I was afraid that I would find actual scientists that would say the world was going to end.

And now that 2012 has came to past the only thing that has ended is the belief of a 2012 apocalypse. And I thought now would be the time to properly thank all of you wonderful people for allowing me to let go of these fears. You gave me my peace of mind back. You also taught me a lot about the world we live in. You also taught me that most of the people who believe in doomsday predictions are complete morons who are always wrong. I can't thank you enough.

I wish all of you administrators a Happy New Year. I hope 2013 is good to you all! :)

Keep squashing doomsday rumors for me okay! :)

I just wanted to thank everyone on this site for all the help they have given me throughout the time I have been on this site. I can't thank you guys enough for calming me down and debunking any doomsday theory I threw at you. Your help also gave me the knowledge to debunk 2012 for my friends and other users on this site.

Even though I know there will always be more theories, I hope the only reason I'll be posting on this forum is to help other out. Thanks a lot!

i was on youtube, (a.k.a doomsday breeding grounds) and people were saying OMG 2013 is da endz!?!? they were talking about the folowing things with 2013.

1.Nibiru (not again)
2.Comet ISON (cant wait to see that. :D)
3. 3 days of darkness (3 days of FAIL)
4. photonic belt
5. the rise of the antichrist. (seriously?)
6.another bullcrap nostradamus prediction.
7.(this one is just plain ass dumb) 13/13/13 (WTF?)
8. New years eve. (total existence failure) that one is already not true, its already 2013 in new zealand and japan.
wtf?? doomsdayers are just plain evil, thats all there is too it. :(

i was at Walmart today looking for some food and snacks for my parents. (yeah i do grocery shopping sometimes cause my mom is busy helping out at her work) and there was a magazine saying on the front page: NASA Confirms collision with mars in 2016!!!!! i looked inside it and it was saying that mars orbit is deteriorating and it will lose orbit and crash into earth. and also if we act fast, we could go to another planet, also it said in there that the solar maximum will sent out a "knowing type flare". what is this crap!? and worst of all, it was put in a children's book section, where any kid could see it >:( what asshole would do that? its like putting a porn magazine in a kids magazine section! i cant believe they would do this! we definitely need to keep the site up for a while. :I because there will be a new wave of people scared out of there wits. plus i saw this family that was probably christian, and this atheist that happened to standing in the dvds started harassing the kids when they were looking at this bible coloring book. saying some very evil things that i dont want to repeat. all i can say was that these kids had there feelings hurt really bad. :( but anyways, i am immune t doomsday claims now, but this crap has to stop. mars is NOT crashing into earth anytime soon.

So i talked to a friend who said he had read a article on a swedish news site that talked about real threats too earth, instead of this 2012 poppycock. And he mentioned that he read something about something happening to the sun in 2058.

These were his words: "Well a scientist said something about implosion or explosion… Sunstorms or something I think."

Personally i thought that the article talked about nutjobs trying to predict the end of the world. So i did a google search with "2058 doomsday/end of the world" and found nothing except for people talking about global warming.

I'm just curious, can anyone else find anything on this? Probably not… XD

I remember an interview from the Penn and Teller episode on 2012, a guy spoke about jumping off a cliff to save the world on 21th of December.
This was one of my favorite theories about 2012.

Does anyone know if he jumped? Or has he just been forgotten?

I just wanted to say thank you for creating this site. I am a worrier by nature and was worried for months before I found this site in the summer. I have been a so called 'lurker' and have just made an account to post this.
This site put everything into perspective and made me realise that any worries I have (even not related to this subject) can be explained or are not as bad as I may believe.
I have learnt so much about the Earth from reading your links and am currently doing my own research and learning to satisfy my new found interest in Space etc.
Thank you to all involved in this site, my Christmas has been so much better and my family has benefitted from having a calmer mom/wife.

OK, Nancy has wisely kept her mouth shut about dates since 2003, and Jose Arguelles and Terrence McKenna have the defence of being dead. But I've gone over recent posts from the Big Three (Marshall Masters, Jaysen Rand and Patrick Geryl) and haven't found any retractions and/or revisions as of yet. Anything come up that you can find?

It is Christmas day, I am very lucky to say I have had the whole day at home with my mother and my family, I had Laurao1979 start a thread on me (Which at first I was unaware of) when I was taken into hospital following a breakdown about the end of the world, I will never pretend it was the only reason I have been told since I have a boarder -line personality disorder, But for weks that end time was all that consumed me, Simple things like not being able to afford a holiday this year devestated me as I thought id never get a chance again, my mind was forever full of the 21st, till it became so bad I made the decision not to be here when it (or what i believed it) would happen, Alot of people have asked if I spoke to people, I did, but when they said "it's fine" or " You know it's lies right?" I lied and agreed i did not want people to think I was crazy… Well anyway I would like to say this, To all of you who responded to Lauras messages, who showed concern for a complete stranger, who advised and cared, It was truly beautiful to me, I read everything from you including the De-Bunking, and slowly slowly a small glimmer of hope emerged … And to Laura who came to see me in the "crazy ward" everyday no matter what hours she had worked, or how hard it was, I love you x, Thank you all for your support, your site is something that i wish others had seen, and maybe me before…but here is to better health in the future, I must go as it is time for me to go back, plus ive nicked Lauras account !
