Do note that the switch is very much possible and a researcher had found that it had happened in the past…

I'm just not sure when it will happen. In geologic terms it might be the next 100,000 yrs…

You're right, once 2012 comes and goes they will just wait for another hysteria time and jump on it…

yes, well… the poles have been "about to switch" since the 1980s (according to some).

The south pacific thing is real, it's called the 'South Pacific Anomaly', but it is only significant to satellite operators. It's basically a dent, or weak spot, in the earth's magnetic field. It's not new, either.

Like I have said before my boss buys into this stuff, everytime he watches a show I have to hear about it.
He watched a show the other day that said the magnetic field in the south pacific was becoming weaker which will cause the poles to possibly switch and something about radation. I just shake my head. I am sick of it!!
And know there will be a show on Sci-fi about it, will this ever end? I have a feeling when 2012 comes and goes they will just pick a different date and the hysteria will start all over again!!
