Hi Supertoast,

I am neither here nor there on the subject and in my opinion everybody suddenly becomes an expert, and will only believe what they want to believe and mostly will seek out that which supports there beliefs.

One of the things I have found is suddenly believers are getting ready for whatever it is , non believers are happy to stay the same.

believers and non believers all need to embrace the idea that this world needs to change in so many ways.

We are not going to be blown off the face of the planet.

We may suffer a huge financial setback and food may become an issue , not due to a lack of it but perhaps more to government sanctions.

I guess the question remains " IF SOMETHING DID HAPPEN, ARE YOU PREPARED "

and that may simply mean that if you lost your job tomorrow, how would you survive ,

Always be prepared for the unexpected, whether you believe it or not,

like cyclones/tornadoes/floods/fire/ etc

Dont be caught without a plan

But dont freak out either

calm relaxed people who have a plan have a greater chance of survival, whether its a plane crash or a house fire or a weird
end of world theory

Regardless of everyones beliefs, we all need to have a survival pack with food water shelter etc, easy to make and grab on the way out the door.

Dont panic or you,ll be toast

First of all, it's great to see that SANE individuals still exist, and therefore have made this website to expose the hoax/scam behind the 2012 and all of its looney followers and conspiracy theorists.

My story is very much similar to some of which I read on this forum. I am 23 years old and have been raised in Brazil my whole life and still do live here. I remember back in 1999, our local "60 minutes" (but lacking in quality and content of the one in the US) had made a report on Nostradamuses prediction for the world to end that very year. Time went by, and the world obviously did not end.

Recently, I started noticing that 2012 began to appear as a trend on twitter of those I follow, as well as the launching of the movie. I used to watch History Channel documentaries on anything, including about apocalyptic predictions since my childhood fear had faded away. I was always a strong advocate of arguing against those ridiculous "Bible Codes" and Nostradamus, using the simple argument that one could find messages in any given text… (this somehow reminded me of John Nash in A Beautiful Mind, who used to find anything he wanted, anywhere). My girlfriend on the other hand used to be quite scared of this subject in general, always avoiding it. I never used to be scared or fear this outdated childhood fear of mine until… (please hang on to the next part of the story.)

One day a "friend" of mine came over to my house, and we were just talking about things in general. I had asked him once if he was ever kidnapped, which I presumed because he acted quite uncomfortably in public and was always calling his parents wherever he went to let them know where he was. He never answered my question until this day. He started making up a story on how he was chosen by a secret society due to his past life, and they showed him who he really was and that he is not really who he is.

WOW!! I really love hearing and reading about this stuff in the ENTERTAINMENT aspect of the thing. I was quite fascinated, so I went on asking questions. He then went on to saying how he and 39 other people receive orders from a smaller group of four people to do "things". I interrogated him as to what, but he simply didn't answer. He is a smart guy, and he knew how I liked discussing paranormal/conspiracy stories. He then mentioned that the world was "under warning" for 2012!! How bad things must be done for a "greater good". I completely bought the story without questioning anything about it. He was always a suspicious person, who claimed he had made and lost over 10 million USD, and he is around the age of 21, did'nt like to leave his house, and as I recalled the fact, he takes controlled medication.

Thats when I almost blew a fuse: someone I used to trust tells me this and also says how the last time this "warning" happened was in 1997/1998. I began to fell angry, panicked, anxious, everything you could put together in terms of negative emotions. He then left, and we never talked again. He hardly used to call me when he was my "friend" so I never expect him to contact me at all ever again.

The next few weeks were hell for me. I live alone and now I had this message that 2012 was a real warning! And then I did the WORST thing possible: search the internet for answers! This led me to a downward spiral: I began getting stomach aches, losing my appetite, imagining that anything from aliens invading the earth, Illuminati, new world order, world war III was going to happen because the world is under warning.

I then traveled for Christmas, and still felt pretty bad. Things stopped making sense to me. My very house wouldn't feel like home and Christmas didn't feel like Christmas. I then decided that I should go to a psychologist. After a few sessions she helped me fell well and assisted me in reasoning.

Today, I have concluded that such things are not possible. I thought to myself if it were a stranger on the street who told me that the world was under warning, I wouldn't care at all. But the fact that someone I trusted (of whom now I strongly believe is Schizophrenic) said such a thing, made me feel completely scared! I won't tell you the entire background about the person, but he was always very strange… never leaves his home without his girlfriend, always told stories of grandeur and excitement and never has had any other friends besides me.

Well, I had to make the best of it, so I tried some spiritual help books. They did make me feel better as well; telling me that there is nothing to worry about and that no one can predict anything ever! They can only make it happen in the present.

I am still slightly uncomfortable and feel like my life is somewhat movie-ish. The subject doesn't affect me as it used to, but I still go online and end up looking at all those crazy conspiracy sites, as if I were trying to find an answer to all of this! But I am sure that time is a great healer, and I will be back to as I was in some time.

This site called my attention due to the awareness it wants to spread to younger people. As a formerly frightened child, this really touched my heart to see that there are people not trying to make a buck from peoples fears. This apocalypse mumbo-jumbo has been going on for too long! And guess what… it NEVER HAPPENED! WE'RE STILL HERE! If it happens, there will be much warning about it. Nothing will happen in the wink of an eye; and non-scientific/mystical BS and speculation does not count as a warning!
