Marc, thanks for starting this thread.
I was going to start a similar one but I can add to this.
I love this site. I have learned a lot while having a lot of good laughs. Dear lord there are some very strange people around.
While reading other threads on the forum I have come to the conclusion that the fewer capitals in a post the saner the person, so this is a very sane thread. Why do people think that posting in caps will get their point across better?
Anyway, keep up the good work, I will be visiting again.

Thanks so much to all the authors for your time in putting together this site. For a long time I assumed that everyone was laughing about the whole "2012" BS like I was, but then I realized several of my friends and coworkers are really scared about it (intelligent, reasonable people in most other respects). They've been forwarding me emails that propagate the hoax, telling me I need to be prepared … I didn't know how to respond other than, "are you kidding?" But now I can just point them to the section of this site that explains whatever it is they were getting uptight about. Wow, logic, rationality, and knowledge … what a relief!
