Yes, Phil Plait's "Planet X" page is the source of a lot of the information on this site regarding "Planet X" and "Nibiru". Those are basically retread hoaxes from 2003, and you'll find links all over the place to badastronomy.com, especially on the Planet X page.

Let me assure you, you do make a difference. Maybe not on a national level, but imagine the people who have come to this site scared and gone away feeling better. If this site didn't exist, their lives would be full of anxiety and depression all the way up to 2013…or worse, suicide.

Never feel like you guys aren't making a difference.

With that being said…have you guys seen Phil Plait's Planet X stuff? I think you guys probably site it somewhere around here. I was reading it, and I was amazed by the similarities between the 2003 claims and the 2012 claims. Its just somehow 2012 claims took off on the internet. I want to second Astrogeek's thanks for your post. I sometimes wonder if we are making a difference, so it really encourages us when we hear from people who have been helped by our efforts.

I wanted to thank you for taking the time to put this information out there. I am the mom of a beautiful 6 year old little girl. I came across those documentaries on the History channel several months ago and had a full blown panic attack - WOW and I am not even slightly kidding. At 1AM, I immediatley began searching the internet for more information. Thoughts of destruction and how I would protect my daughter for the "END" raced through my mind. I was lucky enough to come across your site. It took me several days to read and digest. I want to thank you, as I also run a group home for at-risk teens. Many of them quoting that there is no reason for them to make behavioral changes because we will all be gone in 2010. After seeing the History shows, I almost was a believer. A concept that is somewhat concerning to me as a person who holds a Maters degree and graduated Summa Cum LAude from college - ugh!! I still get a bit anxious when talk of 2012 comes up. For instance tonight on the sci-fi channel darn Lester Holt had a special on 2012. I once again ran to my computer in a full blown sweat!! I re-read your information and now am ready to give me daugher and husband kisses on their cheeks and go off to dream land after I say my prayers!! Thanks for the effort you ARE making a difference.
