I've considered moving to Amsterdam. At least they party, have fun and have Dutch chocolate and they don't worry about 2012 or any other doomsday.

Unfortunately, I feel he's right.

I've seen this so many times now, if anything at all unusual happens, people reach for an answer out of the "2012 grab-bag". Bad Hurricane season? 2012! Extra rain? 2012! Drought? 2012!! Hotter than normal? 2012!! Cooler than normal? 2012!!

It's ridiculous, but unfortunately completely predictable.

Weather anomalies have been occurring for centuries, some weather anomalies are a puzzle while others just make you slap yourself in the forehead and say "Wow, it was so obvious!"

I personally think that the weather is similar to a wild fire on a one-way street. It burns six houses, but skips the seventh to burn the eighth and the ninth, is this a sign?
People take the smallest of things and turn them into whatever they want them to be. A man steps on a beetle, I can turn it into some sort of prophecy of a coming apocalypse in three months, two days and one hour.

It would seem that the residents of America are fascinated with doomsday scenario's while residents of other countries just go about with their lives, I've met quite a few Dutch residents who had never even heard any of the theories surrounding 2012 until they watched the movie released by Roland Emmerich, the Dutch seem to think that it's humorous that almost an entire nation is worrying about such nonsense.

I hate to say, but I think its because the other 30% are more civilized than most Americans. While you're seeing a U.S. citizen talk about a New World Order, not once have I seen someone from Moscow or England support such things. But thats just my view.

The flooding here though has to do with the heavy rain overflowing the lakes and our drainage ditches clogging.

My question is how come most 2012 believers are in the US? While there are others around the world, but I would say a good 70% comes from the US. Many of the youtube videos of things happening in Aus, Moscow, Indian and the like are uploaded by US users.

In the past year starting since last December we had a snow storm, then in early January an ice storm, then in February some 4.0+ earthquakes, then in May a tornado outbreak along with a hail storm, and now this week we have had flooding issues and it lead many people to believe its the end of the world and/or it is connecting to 2012. It actually took a couple of priests and the news anchorman to convince people it wasn't.

At least there is a good side to it. I say it is a good thing that the news people are finally trying to convince the people it isn't.
