But Eris wasn't discovered until 1983 so the guy writing the letter is wrong if that's what he's even talking about.

The person isn't talking about Eris. He or she is talking about some orbital calculations regarding Neptune that, up until 1989, scientists thought might point to another body farther out in the Solar System. Pluto and Eris were too small. In 1989, Voyager II flew by Neptune, and scientists used new readings to revise the planet's mass upward by 0.5%. This caused all the discrepancies to go away. There was no mysterious body pulling on Neptune. The old mass calculation was simply not accurate.

Woo-entrenched people such as the guy/lady who sent the above message are either ignorant of this fact or choose to ignore it.

Anyway, a bit of background first. Long story short, in a maaaassive back and forth on YouTube, the author of this message told me that he emailed David and wasn't satisfied with his response. Thinking he didn't email at all, I called his bluff and asked him if he could send me the email and response, to see if I could have a look at both the question(s) and answer(s) and see if it really was dissatisfying in anyway.

To my surprise, this was sent to me. If David happens to be browsing this post and can confirm this is genuine, all I can say is that I salute you. Here goes:

when you look at the facts its beginning right now. More snowfall and extended winters show we are entering an ice age in the uk. In america i have been told ice glaciers in certain places have gone. America will become a desert.

As for the increased earthquake activity this shows that some of it is man made with haarp. Most of it isnt and we are currently going through the phase of a magnetic reversal. If this reversal completes its cycle in 2012/13 it will rip our land apart and cause mass flooding. Due to sun spots peaking and creating hard magnetic points on the planetary surface.

Further things to look at are nemesis (a second sun) This alone has shown alot of credible sources from youtube. The suns emissions have been changing with suggests something else may happen. nibiru is in the orion constellation pulling at its gravity.

Depends if other life forms care enough to help us. They are currently split. Some think why should we help a race that runs on greed and corruption and also kills each other? Very valid point. Sometimes even i wonder if we are worth saving.

The norway spiral has also been connected with end of days. This spiral event marks danger in itself. Ancient markings on the high up mountains point to this event and figures pointing to the sky with devil signs around them.

This event is a sign for future problems it also says we need to move to higher ground. The magnetosphere on our planet is failing and partly damaged. This also means that we are exposed to space radiation. Exposure to that results in death and mass mutation.

Our magnetic lines are twisted. Another reason why animal migration has been going wrong. We depend on animals for survival and on that topic bees have been dying in massive rates. Without them we have no crops and face mass starvation.

When nibiru does come (trust me it will as i have had talks with other life forms about it) I dont think we can survive such an event. The governments of this world are franticly building underground bases. This will only lead to their graves. They are exposing the skies with chemtrails. This nullifies vision of the incoming nibiru.

Unless we wake up to the real dangers that are going on and unite as a race. We cannot get through this. Far too many controlled by the media and personal obsessions.

Tell me why since you have "nothing to hide" then why dont you open up all your feeds live on the internet? Why did you after ufo's were spotted you then shut down the live feed? Go on put ALL live feeds on from the spt to every other installation and your thousands of satelites you have around our planet.

Why is the government targetting people to not speak out with death threats? Come clean for once. You dont even know what blasted our magnetosphere!

This all points to the anunaki. They have such technology. Coral castle and magnetic technology shows this. Nasa in 1982 even disclosed that an unknown body was pulling at uranus and neptune was pulling at their orbits! you then sent iras out and it discovered a massive heat source (nibiru is a brown dwarf that has cold and hot parts, this explains why iras picked up this signature)

I cannot answer a letter like this, but I am posting it because it represents the most fantastic merging of various pseudoscience and conspiracy threads I have ever received. The author begins with 2012, galactic alignment, and threats of terrible solar storms. Then he moves on to alien bases on the Moon, recent catastrophic interactions between the planets as suggested by Velkovsky, a world government plot to fluoridate water and drug the world population, suppression of a magical "zero-point energy" source revealed by the face on Mars and the Red Spot on Jupiter, and a plot to destroy the twin towers on 9/11 with new weapons technology stolen from aliens. All in one letter. Wow.

He's not entirely correct. He could answer the letter, but it would take upwards of ten or fifteen pages. I think the approach he took was the best of his available options.

That said, how incredibly tragic. Even more tragic, people like that are running loose on YouTube, and other people see such crap and believe it.

The author of that letter is sadly deluded. He begins with an accusation of lying against Dr. Morrison, cites a brief segment of Dr. Michio Kaku's appearance on Fox News four years ago, and then launches into a tirade about secret alien bases on the moon, the "real" history of Jupiter and Venus, a rant about how Velikovsky was right, about suppressed evidence of UFOs (meaning alien spacecraft, no doubt), about how Morrison (and presumably me, although the government doesn't pay me) resort to "fluoridating water and dumbing down and drugging the population", "hot spots" at "tetrahedral angles" showing "other-dimensional physics", Hoagland's "artificial monuments" on mars, etc., etc., etc.

What can you say to someone this immersed in pseudo-science? How can you possibly get through to them? The answer, sadly, is that you probably can't.

We have seen this in our own forums here, where people hold forth as the absolute truth the most inane nonsense imaginable, and when confronted with the lack of evidence for their ideas, immediately jump to the "paid disinformation site" card.

One tactic is argue against it, in the hope that our rebuttals change the minds or ease the fears of people who run across this nonsense and might be tempted to believe it. However, Dr. Morrison has chosen another tactic, which is to simply post the letter, and point out how deluded the author is. As Dr. O'Neill pointed out in our interview last night on Just Another Day one sadly under-utilized tactic is ridicule. Penn & Teller effectively used ridicule against the entire 2012 doomsday nonsense in their show and Stephen Colbert held the doomsday bunker advocates up to ridicule on his show with his call of "Nibiruuuuuuu!!!", while shaking his fist at the sky.

Perhaps we debunkers need to go to comedy school?
