In fact, it's been projected by NASA that the next solar maximum will reach its highest point in May of 2013 with "a below-average number of sunspots". Now where have you heard that? The sun has about five billion years left which, last I checked, is much longer than the average human lifespan.

First of all, who is "They"? Second of all, the sun is not getting any hotter any time soon. It will get hotter in a billion years or so as it gets closer to its Red Giant phase, but in time for 2012? Not at all. Unless you happen to be immortal, it will not be of any concern to you.

Yes, because we're heading toward the next solar maximum. Sunspot activity varies up and down in roughly 11-year cycles. It's nothing new and is completely normal.

No. That's ridiculous. The Sun is currently in what we call the main sequence of its life cycle. It has billions of years left.
