Anything like that on camera would probably have been caused by a lens flare.

On the 29th October Jupiter will be at opposition, the point where earth passes between the sun and Jupiter. At this point earth is at it's closest to Jupiter, which is 628,743,036 million km. So at this moment earth is roughly that distance from Jupiter. I've got a great view of it right now, it's very very bright I must say.

Saturn isn't visible from your location right now, so you won't be looking at that.
