Here was my email to Andov;

William Hudson to Pane

Well, I speak English. After hosting this site for several years, and successfully defending myself and the site from various legal and extra-legal claims, I also speak a bit of legalese.

My assertion is that the page clearly falls under the "fair use" exclusion of the copyright laws in the U.S. (that would be the equivalent of the "fair dealing" exclusion there in Australia). However, international law regarding copyrights on images is a bit murky, and while I feel that my use of your 'personal image' was also "fair use" (because the purpose of the use was criticism and education, and because the image was hosted on your own server, not on the 2012hoax.org servers) it may have been possible for a cleverly worded copyright infringement claim to prevail.

So, I have replaced the "personal image" of you with an image that merely reminds me of you. I hope you are happy with the result.

The rest of the content on the page is either my own work, or is minimal quotes from either your website or your ebook which clearly fall under "fair use" and "fair dealing" in both of our countries. Have your expert legal staff explain it to you.

Pane Andov has re-asserted that he wants me to remove "his material" from this website. The only part of the page on Pane Andov that is at all in question regarding 'fair use' (that would be 'fair dealing' under Australia law to you, Pane Andov) is his claim of copyright on his 'personal image'.

Seeing as that is the case, I have elected to remove the image (actually, it was a 'hotlink' or an 'img src=' tag to Pane Andov's own site) and have replaced it with an image that I believe to be in the public domain, that merely reminds me of Pane Andov. You can still click through to the image (again, hosted on Pane Andov's own site) if you really want to see a picture of him.

So, Pane, I hope that you're happy with my selection of a replacement image.
