I remember seeing a 2012 documentary listed on NatGeo a few years ago and then going on their website and finding out that they have a whole section on there dedicated to 2012 with a countdown and everything. The Discovery Channel and Science channel (same company I believe) seem to be the only tv channels to tell the viewers that Dec 21, 2012 is all bogus. I think NatGeo is with History, and that is why they show it.

Very true. Just hoping they may be trying to help and not hurt the hysteria. Maybe it's a far cry, but hey, a girl can dream! Haha

The third show on that list isn't too bad I hear. I know Hoopes, and he is definitely anti doomsday. It all depends on now good or bad the editing is.

It looks like to me they're not saying the world is going to end. I feel like instead it's going to show how it's not going to. They have John Hoopes on it who doesn't believe in the 2012 Doomsday. I think it might actually be a good show!

"Imagine a neutron star […] flying straight toward our solar system. When it arrives, it threatens to pull planets out of their orbits and shred the planet we live on. Our only choice is to band together, create a vast vessel and escape to a new planet"

Sounds easy when they say it, doesn't it? Let's see if NatGeo can spend $1000 billions of dollars to build one for us, you know, to prepare for a Neutron Star arrival. Perhaps they could build one in a month? ;-)

Well, it looks like in early December, NatGeo will dive headfirst into the 2012 doom-mongering. Here is a PDF of a press release announcing "Three End-of-the-World Specials".

These look like new entries in similar fare offered by the History Channel and Discovery Channel.
