It is absolutely no threat in 2019. It may be a slight threat in 2060, but the likelihood of that being revised to zero threat is high.

They found this asteroid ten years ago.

Recently is a word they used, not me, I just wrote down what I heard. I'm glad it is not a threat. Thanks for clearing that up :)

Highly unlikely. It'll pass us.

Asteroid 2002 NT7 is 2.6 km in diameter and was thought to be a significant impact threat in 2019. After more astronomers brought their instruments to bear and an accurate trajectory was plotted the threat level was reduced to a 0 on the Torino and Palermo scales. The same asteroid will return in 2060 and could be a possible threat then, but given enough time to plot future orbits and trajectories, NASA will probably rule out the threat before the asteroid can return.

And recently discovered? They found it back in 2002. They thought it was a slight risk, but they reduced the threat level to ZERO after looking at trajectory.

This morning I heard about this asteroid 2002NT7 that is recently discovered and they fear it is gonna hit us in 2019. Is this true???
