Hi there, I am in Mexico and just checked the website for the National Institute of Anthropology and History and it does have a countdown to the 23. However in every article is pointed out that there is no such thing as a doomsday prophecy, it also has a website they made in cooperation with the Smithsonian, and it actually makes a short debunking of all 2012 myths…

oh sorry, another thing, the Maya didn't disapear, their civilization slowly died out due to disease brought by the spanish and a forced change of beliefs and way of life, kind of like the native americans in the U.S.A. also I think you were saying your mum was saying the Maya predicted nuclear weapons, that is also not true, they would have had zero way of knowing they would have even been invented!! sorry to ramble on but i also have young children and I feel your pain, just hope to put your mind more at ease! this site and the people on it worked wonders for me, and now I can't wait to celebrate my one year olds first real christmas(he was only 4 months old last christmas), he's already trying to rip presents open from under the tree..haha

relax, theres nothing to fear about area 51, its simply a place where the air force can test new aircraft without the medias prying eye. there are no aliens there or any other wierd thing. and don't be alarmed AT ALL about what you hear about missiles being pointed at other countries major cities, this is something that is blown WAY out of proportion. It's simply a measure of precaution. think of it this way, when you're driving your car you put your seat belt on, youve never been in a serious wreck or gone through the windshield after slamming on the breaks or anything, but you put it on just in case that EXTREMELY rare event happens. That's all it is, a precaution. Politicians and military leaders understand that they're not the only ones with bombs and take VERY serious care to not use them and in fact exhaust every other possible solution first. So no worries about area 51 or any other bomb or missile scare you may have!! You will most certainly never experience this in your lifetime, and neither will your children in theres!!! so enjoy christmas!!!!!

That would be the site of Russia Today, it's very much a propaganda-loaded, sensationalist, tabloid newspaper and anything but a credible source.

It sounds like they're just trying to use the 23rd December date in some new way - and that one was only created by the doomies who realised nothing was going to happen on the 21st.

Edit: And the reason I ask is: there was no official countdown in the first place. It was invented by the doomies. So for someone to claim, now of all times (and not in any previous year) that it has changed, seems mightily suspicious.

No one knows whats at area 51, or even if there is an area 51, mainly because its suppose to be a secret base. The only ones who know for sure that theres is an Area 51 are Mulder and Scully oh and Samantha, Jack, Te'alk and Daniel Jackson. Otherwise its just mearly speculation. So nothing to see here people move along……..

11:10 GMT: The countdown to the apocalypse is over. According to interpretations of the Mayan calendar it finished at 5:07 Mexican time (11:07 GMT). However, Mexico’s National Institute of Anthropology now says that due to inaccuracies in calculations the countdown might not end until Sunday.

Sorry yes i was on about the mayan's, Also my mum was on about some new age thing which really freaked me out, she was saying half of us would disappear just like the maya did, I don't know if they did.

Then she went on to say that area 51 has nuclear weapons pointed at every major city and maybe thats what they were predicting.

I'm assuming that by "they" you mean the Maya.

Given that they didn't make any prediction about today at all, they also didn't base it on anything. Idiots did, and they were wrong. There's really nothing to worry about.

I am still very scared and worried if they based it on sunset and sunrise, Am i right in saying this won't be over until later this evening because its only 12.15pm here.

I don't know why i am worried my daughter has her christmas party later and i don't want here go.

I keep having thoughts like are the government covering it up so we don't panic.

Then my mum on about new age transitions where there will be some kind of spirit thing.

Other people on about super volcanos pole shifts etc.

Then to top it off my 12 year old daughter came home in tears saying she didn't want to go to school tomorrow because she wanted to spend time with her brother before she died….So i'm telling her nothing will happen yet i have my doubts.

There is nothing out of ordinary going on.

New Zealand, almost all of Australia and Japan are already living Friday, Dec 21st.

And obviously nothing extraordinary is happening in those countries.

There are people from NZ and Australia on this very forum, still very much alive and breathing, despite having living the 21st for some hours now.

So relax. It is just another day, nothing more, nothing less.

I am so scared of whats going on, Only reason i'm scared is because of my 2 year old son.

Trying to put it to the back if my head but everywhere you turn someone is talking about it or posting something up.

Is it possible that something could happen….

Honestly i am scared stiff.
