I tend to think that Jackson was referring to global climate change. But, I could certainly see him buying into the 2012 nonsense.
In the real world, some climatologists are saying that by 2013 the arctic ocean could be ice-free in the summer. This would be a catastrophic blow to polar bears, who need the ice in order to hunt for their prey (mostly seals). An ice-free arctic will devastate the polar bear population.
I am very afraid of all this 2012 stuff, I mean I think that I have been brain washed becasue I think like ''Well there are so many things that people are saying will occur on dec 21 2012 then maybe one is rigth..''
Much of the 2012 nonsense is built on other 2012 nonsense. The proponents are quoting each other back and forth like they actually know something. Even the web.bot prediction is in this category, since it scours the web for date references. So, there are a lot of references to 12/21/2012, and the web.bot coughs up that date as "significant", causing more people to talk about 12/21/2012…
In other words, it is a circular argument. The prediction occurs because the date is mentioned, thereby assuming the conclusion in the premise.
