Look, Im only eleven. Ever since I heard of this stupid 2012 stuff, IVE BEEN SCARED TO THE POINT OF CRYING EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. Do you know how horribly confused I am!?! I dont understand any of you grown ups around here, I only ask one question "Will I die or not?" and I expect a yes or a no. Not some jibber-jabber space-ship,science,e=mc2 crap! Ive been told many, many, many, MANY times its a hoax. But I live in a well built house of facts, and this whole thing about the Mayan calender ending and the Masons and all of this is confusing me! Just tell me one word and atleast calm me down for a half-second. YES OR NO?…

No. Absolutely not. Not in three years, at any rate. I'm 20 years older than you and trust me, I went through the same things you have been experiencing. Fear is indiscriminate and it happens to the best of us. Saving the science, which you have no interest in, it's all just a cruel joke. You're going to be fine. And when you finally get to be my age, which you most certainly will, you'll look back on 2012 as just another year. It'll be fine. People just fear those things they don't understand or can't easily interpret.

So just remember that whenever you feel hopeless and sad and not sure what to make of things, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. There are many of us, many older than you, going or have gone through the same thing. And remember, no matter what, you will always have your friends and family who love you. And in the end, that is always the most important part.

Oh my goodness, thank you. I knew I wasnt the only one, but at my age, it feels like either its my fault or it was just supposed to happen to me. No joke. Thats the way it feels.

But anyway, thanks for commenting back. I feel way better now. Now that I can sleep again. Yeesh, I thought I wasnt going to have a thirteenth birthday.

I blame Hollywood and the Internet.

I blame them as well. Just remember that they're only in business to keep you watching. Best possible course of action, stop paying attention. Remember what makes you happy, brings you joy and stick with it. And worst comes to worse, you can always come back here to bring you back down to normal.

The worst thing about all this, I have never heard anything about 2000. Not one thing. People were not predicting the end of the world. They were worrying about computers. We are now talking about the end of the world, and this 2012, scare me a lot.

Actually, there were people predicting the end of the world for 2000, separately from the computer issue. They also predicted it for the year 1000 and 380 additional dates, starting with 2800 BC. This one has no more validity than any of the others. If you go to the pages on this site and read about the claims, you will find that there isn't a shred of scientific validity to any of them. The people making these claims are mostly screwballs. The rest of them are doing it to sell books and other doomsday rubbish. 2012 has no more chance of the world ending than any other year.

Great Post. It just seems like people are putting to much focus on that year, because it is coming up. It is the attention that we are giving the year, that is causing the havoc. The attention and focus. I wish I could come up with something to help to stop focusing. What makes it worse, is that people use God and Jesus, to illustrate their points about 2012. They say it is the year of Jesus, the year of Christ. But in reality, we don't have a clue, about any of that. We don't know anything about Christ coming back. Why do people insist that he has to comeback that year. I just wished we could hear from the creator mouth, instead of assume all the time. Some people say Jesus don't even know the time of his return. It is so much to digest for me right now, can you expand on that?

If you believe in the Bible, then you should know immediately that anyone claiming that Jesus is coming at that time, or that it is in any way a Biblical prophecy, is lying. It is very clearly stated in the Bible that no one will know when that is to happen, not even Jesus. Everybody and their dog knows about 2012, so according to the Bible, it can't happen then.

In two places in the new testament it says specifically that only God (the father) knows when "heaven and earth will pass away".

Matthew 24:35-37 (New International Version)

35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
36 No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

Mark 13:31-33 (New International Version)

31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
32 No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
33 Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.

So, anyone who claims that "the bible says" that 2012 is the end, or that 2012 is the time of the "end of the world" using the Bible as evidence is either ignorant or lying.

Hi Frederick;

Christian eschatology states that at the end times the current heaven and earth will pass away and there will be a new heaven and a new earth. This is based on the book of Revelation, chapter 21.

I don't bother myself with that stuff too much, but there you have it. My personal opinion is that Revelation referred to current events at the time that it was written, specifically Caesar Nero.

hey sofia don't worry. i am 13 years old and i would cry every night like you. i was very scared i wouldn't make it to my 16 birthday. but don't kid, the world is NOT going to end. if you don't trust me then thats ok, but just look at this website. People spent a long time making it. i promise you that in 2012, we'll all still be here. besides if the world were ending in 2012, why would the government care so much about health care if we were to die. and again relax, were kids and were young think about the present not the future, and enjoy life. well…… i hoped this helped. :D

p.s. the movie 2012 is just a scam like the movie 1999. ;)

i was scared too, but it's alright the world isn't gonna end in 2012, don't believe in it cause it's a fake prophecy, go on and live your life and have fun, quit worrying about dying, we will see in december 21 2012, and the people who believe in this doomsday crap will look really stupid when nothing happens.

What worries me is the wait. I don't want to keep waiting for that day to pass, so I can go on. That is what driving me crazy. Who would make the date, at the end of the year? It just an end of an end in a sort. It is the last month, close to the last day of the month. You basically could have made it 2099, that would really sound better. The thing is, how can people just blot it out, since we talk about it so much? I think about that day so much, I just want to stop thinking about it. We need to tear down those scam websites.

I know it's so scary…. I don't want to die yet I'm only 12. :( There's loads on survival guides on youtube so is it true?
If it is just to make money that's evil. Loads of my friends are scared too. One of them is suicidal because of it.

The fact that they are selling "survival guides" should be a pretty good clue that it is a scam. There are a few of the screwball doomsayers who may actually believe what they are shoveling (without stopping to smell it), but for the most part they are just making lots of money. Don't believe it! Show our site to your friend. That is why we are here, to help those who are being frightened by the 2012 hoax.

for some reasons that i dont know and i dont get why do they scare other people and write books about end of time or end of what they call it.. theres a man that told me that it wont be the end of the world but end of the human civilization if it is what if its going to happen in an early year theres a book that says its going to be on a early year and they put a date and month on it.. its makes me confused to think that after a year on summer there will be so called end of time.. even the priest didnt claim that no man can say when is god's 2nd coming but why do they always put yr and date when they are not sure

No.i dont think it will.firstly let me ask everyone who believe this hoax something.this whole thing started only when the film'2012' released,isnt it?from that itself u can be certain that it is a complete hoax.and there is nothing about the world ending in 2012 in the Bible.please dont feel scared.just stay calm and believe in God.your whole family and the whole world is with you.nothing will happen.

sweety, this 2012 did not strated after the film 2012, but the movie grow from the 2012 claims, did you know that in 2007 people said that everything was miss calculated and that Dec 21 2007 would be the end of the world.

Ok so im 20 years old and i am scared out of my mind about this. it all started when this show on the history channel came on about the top ten ways the world could end. from then on i've been having horrible nightmares and cant seem to get over this. i just had a baby and now im not only worried about myself but my baby as well. i think at least once a week i am having a panic attack and i just cant handle it anymore. so i decided to look into it and now that ive seen your website and everyones response i feel a little bit better, but in a way i still feel unsure.

Don't let the Hysteria Channel frighten you with their schlockumentaries. They decided to put ratings ahead of their former credibility. They are showing these sensationalistic unscientific piles of tripe to get more viewers. Do some reading on our site, especially about the things that have you worried. There is not a shred of truth to any of the doomsday claims. You may notice that, unlike the doomsday sites and the Hysteria Channel, we aren't selling anything. We just want to defuse the fear that has been generated by the ceaseless airing of this nonsense. Come back any time you become concerned.
