A terrible numeric coincidence happens. Really bad thing, to be sure. News say the ond of the world is to be expected in the late 2012. Here is the answer: 36,6 is a temperature of any healthy human body. Multiply it by 55 and you get 2013. This coincidence doesn't seem to promise any good, to me. Looks like no end of the world in total, but no healthy human allowed entry to 2013. Objections?
And what significance does the number 55 have? How did you arrive at the conclusion that no healthy human will be allowed entry to 2013? If this meant anything at all, it could just as easily mean that only those with a body temp of 36.6 degrees would be allowed to continue. By your reasoning, you could take any number, multiply it by any other number, then make up some arcane significance for it. If you multiply 98.6 (the Fahrenheit temp of the human body) by 55, you get 5423. OMG! We will all die before the year 5423!
What? You know that these kinds of things are most likely BS?
2012 - The year of the jackpot.
….I think Michael is joking…
Ditto. Don't think he is being serious
I hope you guys are right. I see so many of these senseless numerology things That I can't tell whether they are serious or not. He may have been making the point that it is all silly.
Yes I remeber one other guy on some other forum, he had found hes grand mothers old books and one of them where about some mambo jambo and it had 503 pages, 503 x 4 = 2012. :P
Some people are just finding stuff to match 2012 and some of them or well all of them are just crazy, Terrence McKenna is a GREAT example of these kinds of people.
2012 - The year of the jackpot.
Numerology is baseless. Take for example this guy -

He seems to think the bible is telling us that the end will come in 2011.
Yes, I noticed how well his previous prediction worked out. You'd think these people would get embarrassed after a while, but I guess as long as they are getting attention or money it doesn't matter.
The fact is, multiplying 36.6 by an integer gives integer only once every 183 years. So, the closest occurrence in the future is 2013, and in the past is 1830.
Some may ask: "but what's so special about year 1830?"
Well, here are some facts:
There was a global Internet malfunction. No web sites functional, 2012hoax.org no exception;
Global power outage, and, more awfully, world-wide gasoline crisis;
Only a year later, - august 29, 1831, - electromagnetic induction started to appear again, as you may want to check;
Absence of Internet, electronic mail, night clubs disco, TV, street illumination, out-of-order elevators in sky-scrapers, - all inevitably lead to increased mortality due to anguish, mostly amongst creative persons, like myself. That is why I'm afraid even to think this may ever happen again. P.S. yes, these guys are right, I am not serious. I just pretty often have fun reading some 'predictions'. Made this one myself, and hope you just had some fun reading and not accepting it in all good faith.
hum i must say body temp are 38 c not 36.6 what about in 98F * 55 huh I do remeber if this pridiction was done with this number 100 years ago well the metric temp were not used so who ever think your body tmep is a 36.6 you shold get your self checked you are getting close to hiperthermia..
you wouldn't be alive if your body temp. was 36.6 you die at 90 FERENHEIT
Hi Tyler,
98.6 degrees Fahrenheit is normal body temperature. That converts to 37 degrees Celsius. The 36.6 quoted by Michael converts to 97.88 F. That is a slightly low temperature, but not serious.
"The normal core body temperature of a healthy, resting adult human being is stated to be at 98.6 degrees fahrenheit or 37.0 degrees celsius."
"the normal range for body temperature is 97 to 100 degrees fahrenheit or 36.1 to 37.8 degrees celsius"
Number 98.6°F is a result of conversion from Celsius to Fahrenheit of a value 37°C.
Number 37 itself is a rounded value. The true measurement was somewhere in the range 36.5..37.5°C.
But it's true that measurement result varies even for a single subject, depending on where to measure it.
36.6°C is probably OK as an armpit temperature.
Anyway, what is important for the story here, - this still is not an exact value. If one will multiply 36.61°C by an arbitrary integer number, one gets integer results only once per 3661. Whole story falls apart.
Indeed, 1830 was, - as described here, - without Internet and electricity. How we even managed to survive that?
Now, this is a clear one. Dealing with an uncertain value requires use of a range. In this particular case using a range does not allow any sensible result. Seems useful.
Been away for the holidays, but I'm glad to come back and see that more people with the appropriate sense of humor and common logic are entering the fray. One of the best ways to combat this type of lunacy is always with humor, and I applaud Michael's Onion-esque take on the whole matter. I must admit, at first I thought, "here we go again."
Bravo, Michael. After spending a horrendous day in jury duty, it was nice to have a laugh to come home to.
