Above Top Secret.com has a whole board dedicated to the 2012 'phenomenon'. I keep an eye on it, frequently, and the number of people wandering into discussions and being corrupted by bad science and even worse astronomy is simply staggering. It would surely be of benefit to those users to hear a voice of reason every once in a while.

I apologise if posting this contravenes any rules, I'm just worried for the people being suckered in.

That site at least does have some dissenting posts in it. Are you thinking of infiltrating them with a bit of common sense?

The moderator shows a particularly pig-headed inability to understand the meaning of proper scientific research. Of course, the voice of reason is pointless on this sort of hard-core believer. As you say, it's the occasional visitor who needs to be shown what a load of bunk the whole thing is.

Wow - that december212012.com site is horrific! The level of rubbish is astounding! So many opinions being passed off as fact. Incredible! Poor herbzilla11! He only asked for facts, and got thrown into the volcano instead!

Gee, why would anyone do such a thing? Just because their response to being told the "scientific reference" article was in rag that also published "LBJ killed JFK! Deviant Conservative Males — Does being conservative encourage sex offenses against children? Length of your fingers predicts school test results, homosexuality, and aggression. Sounds like an authority to me!

I especially like the foaming-at-the-mouth response to "can I have a reference?" request. "The article gives you that information". Uh, that would be the "crazy article from the crazy magazine"? Just asking.

I guess it all boils down to two things. "We DO NOT ALLOW DEBUNKING ! That is much different than to "challenge" an idea, an opinion or a set of FACTS." How exactly? And their mixing up of the words "teaching" and "indoctrinating".

I looked at that website, and was astonished to find this book advertised on its home page (at lower right):

I'd say it's the worst book I've ever seen on 2012, and by far. I can't believe that anyone but its author would think it's worth the electrons needed to display its thumbnail on the screen.
