I never realized how much this hoax is affecting young kids. I remember during the 90's there was a program about the supernatural on Fox. One episode was about a massive mega-tsunami that would wipe out the entire West Coast. Now, me being around 10 at the time and living in the Bay Area freaked me out. For those that don't know, the Bay Area is the region where San Francisco is. What made it worse was that I lived right next to San Francisco International Airport and whenever a plane arrived/took off I would think that it's the mega-tsunami coming to take our lives! I got older.. and stopped being scared..
Now with 2012. I may no longer be a child, but I can really relate to how this can scare the little ones. Being an adult now I can honestly say that it truly bothers me that there are people out there propagating this lie for a profit/attention. I don't have kids myself (yet) but I have two young nephews and I hope that I will never have to field questions like the ones asked on this website… But if I did, I would most certainly bring them to 2012hoax.org.
I appreciate the work you guys do. If this site helps even one child ease their minds then I believe you guys, and gals :), provide a good service.
Regards,
Jeff
