My opinion is that it's completely fabricated. According to the 2012Hoax article linked above, such "prophecies" didn't show up until 1959.

In any case, various doomsday sites all interpret the "prophecies" differently, according to whatever agenda they have. Some claim that the falling star is a crashing space station. Others claim it's Nibiru or a killer asteroid. It's utterly ridiculous and utterly fictional. Never mind that there are several versions of the "prophecies" themselves.

My opinion is that it's just something else that the doomsayers cling to.
Predictions and prophecies are kind of like stories, or songs, a well-written song or story can relate to anything that's currently occurring, or even relate to everything that is happening or has happened in the present and in the past.

If this is the best that the doomsayers can do, a few photo-shopped images (the woman biting the planet, yeah, that was originally an apple) and some music to go with the Hopi origin, then I really pity their attempts to cling onto something.
