Angel, this has been discussed repeatedly. Solar maximum is predicted for 2013, and the projection right now is below-average sunspot activity. The sun can ramp up its activity and discharge flares and CMEs at any time.
You seem to be be ignoring a very important line from that article:
"Luckily, much of the damage can be mitigated if managers know a storm is coming. That's why better understanding of solar weather, and the ability to give advance warning, is especially important."
This site's Solar Flares page also mentions this:
"Should such [a Carrington-type event] occur today, there would be massive disruption in electrical grids, possibly long term. What is needed is to beef up our early warning system, and to stockpile spares of critical components. However, the report paints a worst-case scenario where no warning is given, and the electrical grid operators do not have time to take precautions."
I have no idea how you're leaping from that to, "I am really scared that 2012 is going to be the end."
The end of what, and why???
Keep in mind that the Sun gets wilder, on average, every eleven or so years. There is nothing unusual about a quiet Sun becoming more active. In fact, it is expected, as that article you're worrying over explains clearly.
