I saw that there is a live chat option on here. Could we set a time and date to actually talk live to each other and ask questions, instead of posting endless forums? I think it would really help. Then we could talk live to @AstroGeek, @Alene, and @TheGreatJuJu and others that may have the answers some of the people, like myself, would like to have answered?

Are most of the posters here in one main time zone? That might be one hurdle, if you want a handful of different people with different areas of interest and so on.

Well, I'm on CDT, Astrogeek is on Pacific time, Bikenbeer is about 7 hours ahead of me, and I have no idea what time zone the GeatJuju is in. I would be willing to participate if we get a live chat organized.

Well, the live chat was started at the suggestion of another member, who seems to have dropped off of the radar… I'm thinking I should drop her a note to see if she's ok.

It never really got any traction, and probably for the reasons listed.

Probably the best way to do this would be to announce a time and date, and see who comes. I don't mind providing the links, but I got tired of hanging out there all by myself.

There are other options. Once upon a time I started a channel on BlogTalkRadio, and a YouTube channel exists. We could even open up the google group to all comers (something I've suggested before).

I'm on CDT as well, though my hours tend toward erratic, to say the least.

Personally, I think the message board environment works far better for this type of thing than would a live chat, but I'll gladly drop in if others are interested.
