How far is the hype going to go? You have to pay for a couple of them, but the majority are free. When will the hype die down? I'm still really scared of this stuff.

It will keep going as long as the doomsayers are making money from it. That means for another 2 1/2 years. After that, they will lie low for a couple of weeks before they dream up a new date for their doomsday and are back in business.

I saw that too, there's these Iphone apps and all kinds of crap. It's sad to see people making such a huge profit out of other peoples fear and anxieties. Unfortunatelly, as long as people can make a profit on the 2012 scare they will do so. So I personally don't expect this to go away anytime soon (not before 2013). But, as long as there are credible people dedicating time for fighting this cruel hoax I'm not all that worried. I think the most important thing to do is to accept that this hoax, and thats just what it is, only exists so that people can make money on it. Take away the profit and the hoax would die out much faster. It's sad, but these kinds of prophecies has been around as long as mankind has existed and has always been proved wrong. I don't expect this one to be any different=)
