Earthquakes and 2012

I saw that there were a few earthquakes the last couple of days in Alaska and the US. Also there were a few more in other places…Even a 7.something. Were all of the recent ones in the "Ring of Fire", where they say earthquakes are really active? i'm worried about 2012 after hearing about it from a friend. it consumes me.

There has been nothing unusual about earthquake activity this year. You can see the data for yourself.

The west coast of the U.S. and southern Alaska lie on the Pacific Ring of Fire, yes. You can monitor earthquake activity from the last seven days here. Keep in mind that earthquakes can and do happen everywhere, however.

i'm worried about 2012 after hearing about it from a friend. it consumes me.

You really shouldn't worry. Try the articles in the menu to the left, where the majority of 2012 claims are dealt with in clear detail. If something isn't addressed, feel free to ask.
