I saw some shows on the HInt channel last night. The Nostrdamus Effect and Life After People. They were discussing doomsday heiroglyphs found on the pyramids and the Mayan Calender. I know you guys have very good pages on this stuff, but why is the History Channel so set on proving the end of the world will happen in 2 years. I mean, if this stuff is true wouldn't they be scared stiff and worried about their families. I'm really worried that Nibiru or whatever is going to be found at the last minute and we won't have a chance. I have a lot of life left to live. I don't want to only have 2 years left. I also saw somewhere something about the Mayans or Sumerians or somebdy had a heiroglyph showing an extra plaent orbiting the sun. This has really freaked me out and has even started interrupting my life. Please help me!
If you pay really close attention, you will see that most of these 'documentaries' actually clearly state they are not such.
Additionally, History Channel has said in the past they expect their audience to know they are broadcasting entertainment. Viewer beware if it scars you for life.
Do you want to know why they are airing this?
Money.
Yes.
Doomsday > Legitimate History in terms of viewers. It's all about the money and nothing more.
History Channel does not care if children commit suicide over this. They want money and nothing more.
Also, look, let me settle something about that piece of crap Nibiru. Are you ready?
If it was going to come, we would be able to see it, clear as day, by now. Do not buy into this "It's hiding behind the sun" crap. That is >impossible<.
Do not buy into this "it's only viewable at the southern hemisphere" crap. This is possible, but keep in mind just how far that expands. The woo-woos choose the Southern Hemisphere due to the telescope in Antarctica, which… btw… can't take pictures. :| They also automatically assume that the southern hemisphere consists only of Antarctica, so you can't disprove them.
They are retarded.
Yes, some Aussies do claim to have captured Nibiru on camera. Most, if not all, of these can be explained as Lens Flares and nothing more. You'd be surprised how difficult it is to take a picture of the blippin' sun dead on.
Nibiru, the roaming planet of death, COULD exist… but it can't pass by us. It's just not possible. Jupiter would expunge it the moment it even attempted to zip through the solar system.
I guess the only 'plausible' explanation to support the woo-woos is that Nibiru is going at or beyond the speed of light, giving us no warning of it what so ever. This… is insane to say the least.
I'll let someone with further knowledge continue for me on the possibility of Nibiru defying the laws of physics to kill us all.
The History Channel has really gone downhill in the last few years. I think that they are fighting for ratings, and are not very concerned about the honesty or truthfulness of what they put on the air, so much as they are concerned about how many people are watching.
They put those shows on the air because they get a lot of people watching them. A lot of people means that they can charge more for advertising. To them, more ad money is good, and scaring people is just collateral damage.
Neither the Mayans nor the Sumerians had heiroglyphs showing an extra planet. The famous pseudo-scientist author Zecharia Sitchin claims that the Sumerians knew about a "12th planet", but that has been shown to be false.

I think the reason their ratings have fallen is because of the sh*t for quality shows they air, hence they show these shows for a possible turnaround in ratings..???? Kinda like, "why is the sky blue, because it reflects the ocean; why is the ocean blue, because it reflects the sky."
I believe that they are losing ratings because, instead of 'entertaining' people, they are scaring them!

Hello Worried13,
This page about the "2012 Tipping Point Prophets" may help you. It's still under construction, but the text is clear enough.
As you look through that document and the list of "Prophets", you'll recognize some of them as sources for The History Channel's information.
From there, I think you can draw your own conclusions.
actually, that page was just taken out of 'construction' status and published in the sidebar.
