I read on one of the threads that Disney actually owns the History Channels??? WTF?!?! So, they are a company that made its fortune off of children and now they are fueling something to scare the daylights out of the same children and adults too?? That is repulsive!! Can't something be done about them airing this crap as facts?

Nothing can be done about it. There's no law against lying about doomsday. You are expected to be smart about to know when something is "Entertainment" (they label it as entertainment to avoid lawsuits concerning mental damage), and when something is "Fact".

Basically, Hysteria Channel would like you to know you're an idiot for believing them, but thanks for your viewership! :D!

PS: Disney Channel went to crap when it stopped airing it's awesome cartoons from the 80s-90s and started wheeling out crap like That's So Raven, Hanna Montana, and whatever stupid sitcoms they pump out.

I personally would've loved to have been a fly on the wall for the History Channel executive office when they decided to start pedaling out this 2012 garbage becuase you know there had to be one person disagreed with the airing of these shows.

Well, the most recent info I was able to find was from about 2 years ago, and at that point Disney owned 42% of A&E networks (which owns History channel) and Rupert Murdoch's "News Corporation of America" General Electric owned 16%, with the other 42% in the hands of other investors.

Alene Y found some sites that listed ownership differently, showing 37.5% each by Disney and Hearst and 25% by GE/NBC. She also also found in several places that Rupert Murdoch owns about 50%.

I have no idea what the real percentages are today, and really, I have no way of finding out. So let's just say that the ownership of A&E is currently 'murky'
