What is the New World Order in the Bible? I live in NC and they are trying to pass a law where you can't smoke in public. My father in law says it's the Bible fulfilling the end of times because it says that your rights, such as this, will be taken away…I'm confused…Worried about 2012 and sick of hearing this crap!!!!
Alright i'll take a stab at this one LauraLynn and maybe someone else can help out also. As for the whole No Smoking in Public law hell that's not a Bible Prophecy nor does it have anything to do with 2012. As for the Bible that's been discussed on here before and there is absoulutely nothing in the Bible concerning 2012 as a matter of facy Jesus said in the Book of Revelations he says that No Man shall know the day or the hour of my coming not even the angels in heaven or the father just the son.
I agree with that Mike. I'm just the type of person when I get scared of something, I hold on to it. I've been trying for a while now to get over this 12-21-2012 stuff and I just can't I've even been to therapy. I've read this site, FAMSI.org, Ask An Astrobiologist and I just can't make myself think it is all a hoax. I'm terrified. It's interrupting ym life….
Anyone who believes that the end-times are upon us and are connecting the Bible to current events and/or issues as evidence, needs to go back and read the Bible again.
Wie Sie säen, so sollst du ernten.
My anxiety is so bad about it today, I have the shakes. All I can think about is my girls suffering and not seeing adulthood. This is a phobia, but no one can say that it isn't going to happen….I mean, what if in 6 months they discover something….I'm just TERRIFIED. I really need help with this stuff. I can't keep living like this.

Just curious does your dad watch any of the televangilist preechers on TV like Hagee or Van Impe because that where he might be where he's getting the whole Bible End Time being linked to everything and to me it sounds like people like that might want to read the bible a bit more.
My father in law does watch Jack Van Impe. I don't really believe the Nibiru stuff, but the other stuff, like reversals and the Maya calendar that I don't understand, are what worries me.
Well that explains your Father In Law's belief that everything happening now is a sign of the End Times. IT'S NOT don't worry nothing happening now is anything different then what's been happening over the decades and End Time preechers have been preeching about this for DECADES AND CENTURIES pay no attention to them.
LauraLynn
Guys like Hagee and Van Impe are very fire amd brimstone because their not telling you all this for the right reasons. Their saying OMG we're living in the End Times and there's nothing that can save us because they want people's money much like the TBN network that they are on wants you to donate money if you've ever heard their commercials before and after their programming. The Evangilists only show you the way according to them and i would consider them False Christs.
Hi, LauraLynn.
What is the New World Order in the Bible?
The New World Order isn't mentioned in the Bible. It's a figment of some conspiracy theorists' imaginations. You can read about it here.
I live in NC and they are trying to pass a law where you can't smoke in public. My father in law says it's the Bible fulfilling the end of times because it says that your rights, such as this, will be taken away…
While I detest smoking and anti-smoking laws equally, the Bible says no such thing. That's just ridiculous on your father-in-law's part, no offense. The reason anti-smoking laws have gained popularity is we have a desperate society trying miserably to compensate for past failures. And let's just be blunt here — smoking can and does kill people.
I'm confused…Worried about 2012 and sick of hearing this crap!!!!
Crap is what it is, no doubt.
Hi LauraLynn;
I'm a Christian, but it sounds like my beliefs are a bit different than your father-in-law's.
As a "liberal" Christian (which is one of the nicer terms I've been called by the more "conservative" ones I've met) I get pounded with a lot of the stuff your father-in-law is saying. I'm considered 'fallen' by many of them, I guess, and they keep trying to convince me that the gub'mnt is out to get me.
I find it interesting that your father-in-law considers a smoking ban as a fulfillment of the 'end times', especially considering that the neo-conservative Christians are all about restricting some rights while opening up only the ones that they like. So, I guess I'd like to say that if your father-in-law is of a more conservative or 'literalist' stripe, then he is not being consistent.
The Book of Revelation (which I view quite differently than most 'conservative' Christians1) talks about the anti-christ being immensely popular, and leading people away from God. I'm not sure how a smoking ban fits into that picture.

Don't give up Laura. It's hard, but believe me I can understand. As far as the NWO, it's more bunk. Even if the NWO was a reality, which it's not, there will be no enslaving of the human race. It's sillyness by people like Alex Jones who have gone off the deep end. There is a documentary about Alex Jones, and I believe it's called "Conspiract Theorist" or something like that. You'll take him far less seriously after you watch it. I'll see if I can find it.
Did all of the hype actually start with the Maya calendar and then people just started adding things??
I mean, according to FAMSI.org, the entire script at Monument 6 isn't even there…so what if the missing part does say something about doom on that day? It's the day there civilization would start over….
You're aware the Maya calendars also extend far beyond the start of the 13th bak'tun, right? AKA the supposed 'end' of the Long Count Calendar? Which is questionable because many historians and scholars argue it's 20 bak'tuns that end a cycle, not 13.
But, let's ignore all that. Monument 6th's script as read, doesn't suggest a whole lot. One of their gods of creation will descend to some place not us from some place not known and do something. And yet, as you have read in FAMSI, only Monument 6 BRIEFLY mentions 2012. Most of the Maya history is more reflective on the START of this cycle, which they value far more and put far more emphasis on.
If 2012 was so important to the Maya, why do the modern day Maya NOT care about it, and the ancient Maya didn't either? It's a stretch to consider the Maya knew about the black hole in the center of our galaxy, and that their god of creation was going to descend there and do something to it. Seriously, that's a huge stretch.
I really can't say I know what Monument 6 is suggesting, be it trivia or not, but 2012 is largely insignificant to both ancient and modern Maya. But yeah, if I wanted to guess at what Monument 6 was talking about, it might be that said god of creation would descend to a spot of some black emptiness and create something new from it. Let's keep in mind black holes are anything but 'emptiness'. They are something.
Or it could be that the god would travel to a black heart and bring light to it. I really don't know. I don't really care, either! Out of all the Maya transcripts we have, only Monument 6 mentions 2012, and it's brief. One line for it, and then it's back to their other, more significant writings.
In the end, you need to keep in mind these gods don't exist. And if they do, well they're pretty lazy to wait 5000 odd years to do anything shiny! In the end, you need to keep in mind the Maya had multiple calendars, and the Long Count just resets at 13. Keep in mind, 13 is both the start and end of the Long Count. SORT of like an odometer resetting back to 0. Except 0 for them is 13. Kind of.
You'd read FAMSI, darnit!
And, well, if THIS is what is worrying you…?
"The idea of cyclical creations and destructions is a typical feature of Mesoamerican religions, as it is of Oriental. The Aztec, for instance, thought that the universe had passed through four such ages, and that we were now in the fifth, to be destroyed by earthquakes. The Maya thought along the same lines, in terms of eras of great length, like the Hindu kalpas. There is a suggestion that each of these measured 13 baktuns, or something less than 5,200 years, and that Armageddon would overtake the degenerate peoples of the world and all creation on the final day of the thirteenth. Thus, following the Thompson correlation, our present universe would have been created in 3113 BC, to be annihilated on December 24, 2011, when the Great Cycle of the Long Count reaches completion"
I Just shrug my shoulders. You have to keep in mind, even if this is to be considered significant to the Maya themselves, their gods definitely do not exist. So who knows if they consider something like which is suggested from one Mayanist is what they truly thought of their cycles.
Note 'suggestion' that this is what their cycles meant. Not Fact. And again, if everything would reset in 2012, why do their calendars extend far beyond it as if nothing happened? Unless they thought nothing would happen to them, which would go against the theory of creation, destruction, creation again.
And really, we have legitimate proof this cycles DON'T happen. So… yeah. It's up to you to determine what you believe the Maya thought of their 13 bak'tun cycles. My opinion? Nothing. They just liked the number 13. It was a 'holy' number to them. Nothing more.
And if we all are screwed? Enjoy life! What is worrying going to do? You can't stop it, right? Just enjoy your life! To fear both the unknown and the unstoppable is irrational, but I can understand your fear all the same.
NOTHING suggests that the Long Count resetting means a universal reset, with Ancient Egypt being 'established' prior to the start of this current Long Count cycle. If a great destruction and creation happened every time, Ancient Egypt would have lasted about 20 or so years!
It can be argued other civilizations existed prior to Egypt, but obviously not as grand. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I know it's pretty heavily debated, but yeah. If you really want to twist numbers, then perhaps Ancient Egypt was the first civilization of the current Long Count Era, and we're the last!
Pfft… I wouldn't go that far!
Anyway, I'll let someone with more knowledge take over, but you really shouldn't worry about any of this.
I mean, according to FAMSI.org, the entire script at Monument 6 isn't even there…so what if the missing part does say something about doom on that day? It's the day there civilization would start over….
What good does speculating about that do? There's no evidence suggesting anything of the sort. If you're just going to imagine things, there's really no limit to what you might come up with, and there's no particularly rational way to consider it. You can literally make up anything to fill in the blanks. You can just as easily suggest that the missing sections predict rainbows and eternal happiness. Why settle on doomsday?
But let's say hypothetically that the missing portion does mention some kind of apocalypse. It doesn't, and we have no reason to think it ever did, but just hypothetically. Why does it matter? Do you believe in the Mayan religion? What about the thousands of other doomsday prophecies, from cultures all over the world, none of which have come true?
Did all of the hype actually start with the Maya calendar and then people just started adding things??
Pretty much, yep.
The Maya calendar is blown completely out of proportion and taken completely out of context by these mysterious 'experts'.
