Ehm i heard in my local newspaper that this so called medium said that he had a vision that the world went of fire and people were screaming and then mother of jesus said to him dont be afraid the coming of judgement day is near and then i searched it and it turns out its meant to happen on may 21st 2011 can someone from a religious background tell me something about this like a priest or bishop or anyone religious thank you im starting to get worried
Also how did this person come to that conclusion when the Bible clearly states that No Man knows the day or the Hour of his coming not even the angels in heaven or the father just the son.
You said it all when you said "Newspapers".
Newspaper companies are notorious for adding details to a story or, completely fabricating stories just for a juicy headline. Skeptical about that? Take a look into history.
Wie Sie säen, so sollst du ernten.
I have to completely agree with you UndeadxNurse
The papers will do anything to grab the readers attention and strike fear, this includes adding details or just more or less getting it completely wrong. it's pathetic in my eyes.
Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.

It's pure numerological hocus pocus, courtesy of Harold Camping. Here is his 'calculation':
"The number 5, Camping concluded, equals "atonement." Ten is "completeness." Seventeen means "heaven." Camping patiently explained how he reached his conclusion for May 21, 2011.
"Christ hung on the cross April 1, 33 A.D.," he began. "Now go to April 1 of 2011 A.D., and that's 1,978 years."
Camping then multiplied 1,978 by 365.2422 days - the number of days in each solar year, not to be confused with a calendar year.
Next, Camping noted that April 1 to May 21 encompasses 51 days. Add 51 to the sum of previous multiplication total, and it equals 722,500.
Camping realized that (5 x 10 x 17) x (5 x 10 x 17) = 722,500.
Or put into words: (Atonement x Completeness x Heaven), squared."

In other words, it's total numerological nonsense. Add, subtract and multiply various numbers until they give the result you want. At least when nothing at all happens on 21st May 2011, it might serve as an example to people not to believe in end-of-the-world nonsense. It might even bring a few 2012 believers back to the world of rational thought.
This newspaper isnt a tabloid its a local paper it tells the stuff from my town but this time it said about this guy u can look him up if u want his website is www.KnockApparitions.com
I posted a question regarding 2012 on Yahoo answers sometime back and I gt a response from someone saying that this was supposed to happen. Could a page be done on him to help people see that he's a wack job also?? (Even though it technically, isn't 2012-related)
Like im an Atheist but this kinda freaks me out how the two events that are supposedly meant to happen just coincide with each other its just weird
I googled him and found this:
"The self declared visionary Joe Coleman has been making waves in Irish religious circles for the past few weeks. He claims that that the Virgin Mary speaks to him on a regular basis, specifically since he died on an operating table in 1986. Until recently, Mr Coleman was a spiritual healer who claimed to cure cancer by laying his hands on people with the disease. Now he devotes himself entirely to “our Blessed Mother.” A humble man from Ballyfermot in Dublin is now our channel for love and a channel for God."

So, he and Harold Camping are predicting the same thing????
Also found this on Harold Camping
No,no joe coleman said he was in church and he got a vision where the world was on fire and it turned upside down and whatever and mother mary spoke to him and said dont be afraid and that this is judgement day and she said it will happen very soon but its just weird that he got the message at the same time this harold camping guy said it will happen in 2011 which is kinda very soon lol
The only reason I think it is BS is because the Bible clearly says "No man knows the hour nor day…not even the Angels in Heaven, nor the Son"…..So why would he be so special to have the Mother come to him? Also, he sells books, so that's his way of an income…..
Let me give you an example of what this guy is doing.
HEY GUYS! I HEAR 2012 IS A MAJOR DATE! SO I'M GONNA MAKE A PREDICTION ON IT! SINCE IT'S FALLING ON THE SAME DATE AS A SUPPOSED MAJOR EVENT, YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE ME!
Sorry, the Fake Virgin Mary wouldn't know when Judgement Day is. That goes against the Decree of the Bible.
So who do we believe? A fake prophet who speaks to a fake virgin, or the Bible?
Neither, honestly. God is a flawed being. Infinite power in a finite universe = DOES NOT COMPUTE.
Also, uh… why's it involve fire? Not much left for God's Kingdom if you BURN THE FREAKING WORLD god I hate religious apocalypse…
Not to mention that if we are to believe the Bible i'm pretty sure that God said he would never destroy the earth again after the Great Flood in the Old Testiment but i'm going off topic. Religious cults are quite common their have been a lot of them and they make weird predictions. Some of the more famous ones like Jim Jones, or David Koresh. The fact is that guys like Camping and this Irish guy that's being talked about are the some of the False Prophets that the bible warns of and unfourtunately with today's society not a lot of people are smart enough to realize that these guys are lying. It's a shame it really is.
