Hello, my name is Mickey and I live just south of Atlanta, Georgia. The story that I want to tell is very important to me. This story is absolutely true and is not designed to scare anyone or to even say that I know everything about what took place. When I was younger, around the age of 11, I had an amazing experience that I try to share with people when I get the chance. My brother, who was around the age of 15 at the time, was also there when this event took place. It was around dusk and my brother and I were out in the backyard of our parents house, just doing what young people do. We were horse playing and throwing a football back and forth, when this craft suddenly appeared over our heads. Looking into my memory, I see this craft through the trees at first and did not know what it was. It was just as high as the tree line and was moving very slowely. As this craft came into view, I could clearly see that it was circular. Now, when I say that this craft was close, I mean it was about 15 to 20 ft above our heads…very close. It made absolutely no sound, except for what I describe as a vibration. Almost like if you were standing next to a car that had heavy bass. On the bottom of this circular craft, were four white glowing domes gathered together in the middle. The four lights on the bottom of this craft, were glowing a milky white. The entire craft was around 15 ft in diameter. As this craft positioned directly over our heads, my brother became panicked and started screaming at it to go away. Something very strange happened to me though. As I looked at this craft, I remember having this feeling that it was playful. Almost like a childlike playfulness. As I was there watching it, I remember jumping up and down and screaming for it to come down. The craft continued over our heads and over the house. To give you a feeling of how close to the ground this craft was. Our house was one story and if you were standing on top of the house, you could have touched the bottom. The craft continued on and disappeared over the house. My brother, as I remember, was completely distrought. However, I remember thinking immediatly, that my parents definitly needed to see this. However, by the time I had alerted anyone, it had completely disappeared. To this day, I cant believe that I actually witnessed this. I couldn't say that it was extra terrestrial, however, what else could it have been? To this day, I have never seen anything like that again. Everything I have said here is absolutely, 100% true. My brother and I had the opportunity to witness something that was absolutely spectacular.
I in no way intend to be disrespectful ghost. However, if this happened 24 years ago, how do you remember every detail so vividly. I don't think I can remember anything that detailed 10 minutes ago.
I remember everything. It was an extraordinary experience. You dont forget that. I remember the black metallic surface. I remember the four domes on the bottom that glowed a milky white. I remember the vibration. This craft was so close to the top of our heads, you could have barely tossed a rock in the air and hit it. When you witness something this unbelievable, you never forget it. I remember everything as though it happened yesterday. I remember how it changed the way I felt, as far as me feeling as though it were playful. I remember it was a perfect circle. After going back to that house and looking at where it happened, I realized it was around 15 ft in diameter. I remember everything. I could take a polygraph and so could my brother and pass with flying colors. Strangely, over the years, my brother and I have only mentioned it to one another a few times. Evertime I tell this story, noone believes me. Now, imagine witnessing something like that, and telling people, but noone gets excited. Imagine telling people this and noone believes you. Its terribly frustrating, however, I do feel trully privilaged to have witnessed it. Now, im not claiming to have seen any aliens, because I didnt. However, everything I have said here is 100% true. Now, what was it? Ive asked myself this every since it happened. Was it a government experiment? Theres no way it could have been a hoax. Noone could have hoaxed this. This was without a doubt, a flying circular disk shaped craft, no more than 15 ft above my head.
Circular objects make poor for space travel, anyway. I'd be more willing to be less skeptical if it wasn't the cliche definition of a Hollywood Flying Saucer back in the 50's.
Fake.
Of course its fake. Why wouldn't it be? Everyone I tell this to, says the same thing. So, all I can do is share this unbelievable experience with others and hope that one day, someone believes me. It's extremely important to me, that people believe me. I say this because I see real scientists, people that are highly respected in the scientific community, saying that these craft do not exist. When I see them say that, it gives me a very strange feeling. It's almost like your living in the twilight zone, because noone believes it, but you know, without a shadow of a doubt, that you saw it.
Which is noble enough, but such things are easily explained. There are also some flaws in the story as well.
Your backyard had a lot of trees in it? That's what it sounds like. This is a little boggling, is all. If it was above to move through the trees, a craft capable of space travel would likely have broken numerous branches down along the way.
I don't know how alien technology could work, but 'Magic' isn't one of them. If it was 15-20 feet above your heads, and had enough force to be able to travel through space, you likely would have been crushed being beneath it at that altitude due to the force it would need to be giving off to be consistently in the air as such. I might be wrong on how 'hovering' works, however.
This doesn't change that if it were to take off, it would need to exhaust energy downward to do so, to push itself up. THAT would have been an issue, no?
Eh, well. I don't really buy the aliens thing myself.
Moo im telling you, im being honest about this, I know it's hard to believe. I dont have the answers as to how it got here or where it came from. I dont know that it came from outerspace. I just know that theres no doubt about what we witnessed.
I see real scientists, people that are highly respected in the scientific community, saying that these craft do not exist.
Not really. What you see are people being rightfully skeptical, because such alleged encounters curiously lack testable evidence, yet almost invariably they are part of some "unbelievable" and suspiciously isolated event. Unidentified objects of this nature that do happen to be caught on video or photo are normally anything but conclusive, often little more that poorly-focused blobs or dots of light in the distance.
At age eleven, I really doubt your observation skills were as keen as you think, and I suspect your story has been subconsciously embellished over time. Also, bear in mind that, just a few days ago, you were claiming to be a Harvard-trained astrophysicist and former HAARP employee, having worked on a project to shoot magical energy beams at a spaceship harboring denizens from an impossible Jupiter-sized planet that doesn't exist. As such, I'm disinclined to accept your "close encounter" story at face value.
What you have described strikes me as a classic case of bad observation. It fits the mold of pop culture-fueled claims that have permeated the minds of believers and would-be believers since the media in the 1940s and 1950s skewed Kenneth Arnold's claims from "crescent" aircraft to "flying saucers." At the very least, in light of the extreme problems your claim presents from a physics standpoint, Ockham's Razor says "bad observation" unless we have some manner of testable evidence to the contrary.
Your right, it was just bad observation. Im having trouble deleting this, so, I ask if one of the moderators could do so for me.
But I would like to say that im telling you guys the truth. I totally understand the distant observation thing. Sometimes when I read people's stories of UFO's I think the exact same thing and I actually witnessed one. Most of these people see distant lights or something that can be explained away as bright star formations. Take for instance the arizona triangle crafts. When I traveled out west for the first time in my life, I saw that the stars were very bright. When I was in the desert, I saw how easily these stars could be mistaken as actual objects. So, until I actually see one of the triangle craft for myself, I tend to believe these people are simply looking at stars. All of their observations are at a distance. However, the craft I witnessed, was directly over my head. It wasn't directly over my head and way up in the sky, but 15 ft above my head. I completely understand that without evidence, people will be skeptical. There's no way that Ive added on to the story, because it s the same story that ive always told. Not one single person that ive told this to believes me. Just my brother and I. So, I basically just try to tell people, because I dont want to keep that for myself. In my opinion, it was something that the entire human race should know about. To be honest, I never said it was from outer space. All I can do, Is tell you what I saw. Yes, I played games with my imagination with you guys. See, what ive always thought it was, was something from the government. The reason ive always thought this is because of the direction it was drifting. We lived right beside a military base and this thing had to have gone directly towards this base. Only in later years did I realize that it was going towards the base. After I went on google earth and looked at the area where it happened, did I see that it would have went directly towards this base. However, this base is mainly a civilian reserve type base. Not really a place that would have something like that stored there. I just wish someone would work with me to find out what it was. See, theres no doubt what I saw. Ive moved passed that the minute I saw it. But for all these years ive wondered what it was. The trees it was above, were cherry trees. These trees are very short and this craft was brushing it's bottom along the tops of these trees. For the love of God, im sitting here thinking about this I am still in a state of shock. That was the most amazing thing I have ever witnessed.
I believe you saw something.
I have a friend who is in the same astronomy club as me. He is one of the most detail-oriented astronomers I know of. Pick a visible star, and he could likely rattle off stats as far as its spectral type, distance, age, and other characteristics off the top of his head.
He also believes that he had an encounter.
So, I'll say this: I wasn't there, and I didn't see what you saw. I don't believe that what you saw was an alien spacecraft (which you said yourself), and I'm not going to guess about observations made by an 11 year old 20+ years ago. It's also possible that your memory of the event is incorrect (not saying you are lying, only saying that you may be misremembering things).
A good (unrelated) example of this has to do with the car crash that killed James Dean in 1955. An eyewitness to the crash swears up and down and sideways that Dean was the passenger, not the driver. But the person who was in the car (mechanic Rolf Wütherich) said that Dean was the driver. The forensic evidence says that Dean was the driver. Dean's car was hit in the driver's side door, and Dean's head impacted the grille of the other car, and Dean died within a few minutes of being placed in the ambulance.
But this guy will argue with you, probably until his dying day, because he "knows what he saw".
So, I believe you saw something, and I don't discount that at all. As far as what it was? Who knows?
So, having said all of that, I'm also going to say that this thread is probably veering off topic now, and unless there's some objections I'm going to lock it.

See, theres no doubt what I saw.
Unfortunately, that's a big part of the problem with many UFO-related claims and claimants. Personal surety is useless when the claim can't be tested, especially when that surety derives from the observation skills of an eleven-year-old kid and your ability to recall those events twenty-four years later.
I regularly visited a park playground near my home when I was a kid. When I got a little older, I stopped going. Years later, after growing up, I returned and found myself amazed at how small everything looked, even though nothing had changed. The same thing happened when I wandered into my grandfather's barn shortly before he died. I spent a lot of time there as a kid, but I hadn't been down there in years before he grew too ill to walk and work. Again, I was surprised by how small it was, when I had considered it a veritable fortress as a child.
Kids often find mundane things awe-inspiring, seeing them bigger than they are. For that matter, sometimes adults aren't the best observers, either. That's why, in science, we demand testable evidence.
See, I was wanting to see about trying to get evidence of this event. Those tree tops that this thing was right up against, may still have some sort of deposits on them. Plus, me taking a polygraph would add to my credibility. Perhaps, talking with others in that neighborhood that may still live there and just asking if they saw something around that time. See, what ive always worried about is, what if there was something that happened that I dont remember? The only reason I dont think thats true, is because I remember seeing it come into view and then leaving. So, I dont think I was abducted or anything.
Plus, me taking a polygraph would add to my credibility.
Except that lie detector tests are not considered a form of reliable evidence in all European courts, for example, and that they can be beaten by tightening your anal sphincter. There's a joke in that sentence somewhere…
