It seems my History teacher fell into the fog of lies that 2012 conspirators have to offer...

The teacher in my History class decided to let us have an "easy day" by watching a video. Well, the video he decided to pick was a History channel documentary about conspiracies and the Illuminati influencing the world events and New World Order. The usual stuff you hear. I feel like the name has come up a few times here but does David Ick (I might have spelled it wrong) come to mind? He was the main person they interviewed.

But my main question is should it be a concern that he shows this to us in school? Sure, an educational video is one thing but the Illuminati and conspiracies doesn't seem like a good thing to show. The kids at my school are likely to believe anything you tell them. And they tend to spread it around the school very quickly. I know the best course would be to talk to them about it, but the kids at my school aren't people you can really reason with.

I watched 2001: A Space Odyssey in my class, and it's mostly fiction.

Strangely enough, there is education (if provided) in the oddest of places, so it wouldn't really surprise me if this teacher had the ideal that said video could possibly be educational, if it was History class, then there must have been something to do with history, there is however the strong possibility that said teacher has become just another sheep, with all-due respect, of course.

Should it be a concern?
Possibly, if even just one student is affected by the video, it could spiral for that individual or, possibly even others and it could become something much worse, possibly even a school panic.

Assuming that your class deals with individuals who are at an age with the capability of reason, it could also work out for the better. The students may examine the material shown and come to the conclusion that most of it's bogus and separate the facts and fantasies of the video.

He is a good teacher but he does seem to be a bit like someone that would believe those sort of things. When I was gone one day my friend did talk about how he brought up conspiracies out of the blue.

The thing is, my school is mostly gullible and/or ghetto type kids that don't really take the time to look into this sort of thing logically. And word usually goes around pretty quickly especially considering the kids in the class are like that. Most of them at least. It really is hard to reason with them about anything.

I would advise your classmates to take any conspiracy of their own choosing but avoid the illuminate one because the one with the illuminatie in and NWO is a clear sign that you have zero brain-activity left..

Wait another David who believes he is the Son of God and seems to have made some whacky predictions about Aliens amoung other things i've seen this somewhere before i believe it was called THE BRANCH DAVIDIONS cult led by David Koresh.

I would not employ any teacher who showed a David Icke video to a class. Icke claimed to be the son of God, in a turquoise tracksuit, and that the Queen and others are shape-shifting reptilians. He is mentally ill. Kids are free to watch Icke if they so wish on YouTube or other places on the net, but his insane drivel has no place in schools, unless if accompanied by a balanced discussion of his claims, which doesn't seem to have been the case here.

Then you should bring this to the attention of your head teacher. Showing this sort of thing might be justifiable if it were followed by a discussion of the rights and wrongs or the validity or otherwise of what's being presented, but just a straight showing of this sort of material seems to me to indicate that the teacher is trying to indoctrinate the class with their own particular unorthodox beliefs, and this is wrong.
