Some scientists always talk about worse case scenarios and I have a link of some stuff michio kaku said here and is any of this true about 2011?

Basically, these things could happen but is unrelated to 2012 claims.
These are natural occurrences and happens all the time.

The important issue, in relation to 2012 claims, is that the reason for the increase is twofold:
(1) better science/detection gear
(2) human spread into dangerous areas

Keep that in mind when any 2012er starts quoting how it was a lethal year.

Yeah, that likelihood will be about the same as it was in 2009, 2008, 2001, 1990, 1944, 1921, 1855, 1776, 1492, and … well, you get the idea. As ThreeFangCat has noted, monitoring is better than ever, and we have more people than ever, so naturally we'll notice more and more people will be affected on average. Nature isn't doing anything that it hasn't done a trillion times over.

Take anything said by Michio Kaku on television with a grain of salt.

Agreed. Kaku just loves to be on television and he always spouts worst case scenarios. After all, one doesn't get to appear on TV a lot by saying boring stuff like "Things will most likely continue as usual."

Michio Kaku has just played the dice on sun's activity. But he forgot the simple laws of science. However, every year is marked by a big natural disaster. In 2005, the Katrina, in 2006 the Java earthquake, in 2007 the Peru earthquake, in 2008 the China earthquake, in 2009 the Swine Flu and 2012 the Haiti earthquake. Yes, lots of earthquakes, like every year.
So, if I select one year, this year was catastrophic somewhere…

One thing is interesting that he mentioned was dont quit your day job and we will be here in 2013 and beyond it shows the 2012 doomsayers will be wrong lol which I knew.

One problem with science "doomsayers" is that the folks read them and forget all of the cavets and carefully thought out statements. Such as asteroids coming to the earth….newsmedia forgets all the stuff such as if this happens and that happens — then the asteroid.. They just go OMG asteroid…..

I agree Snorks even if its just a close pass by earth NEA the medisa gets all worked up and its no danger.
