I believe that 2012 is fake. But only sometimes, I really want to fully believe that it isnt real but sometimes when I see different things, I just read on. Get captured into the story, everyone at school talks about it, it scares me a lot even though I know its total bull! Im trying not to be scared anymore, in 2011 its creeping me out more and more, im praying every day to God to ask for forgiveness of my sins, just in case. This made it worse. I had a nightmare when I was watching the news and it was announced that the world would end in 2012. I saw my mother cry. I couldnt handle it, please put my mind at ease. Im only 13 and these bastards who think they are supreme and can scam the world deserve to die. 2012 is fake. I know it is but why oh why must the media and other people keep on putting the fear back into me? I dont want to die. Thank you for your help and putting the truth on your site :)

Sadly, those people don't care if you are scarred. They keep putting documentaries about 2012, making viral-marketing websites, blogs, books… And they just don't stop. They still don't realize that everything has a limit. It's not funny anymore, and has become reason for depression, suicides and fear.
So, keep in mind: "it's not real".

Im only 13 and these bastards who think they are supreme and can scam the world deserve to die.

Nobody deserves to die, but I understand your fear. 2012 is clearly business and they're just selling books and movies.

Unfortunately, this lie become popular and is scarring more people. Because of this, it has to stop.

No believe is required, all evidence points that it is made by people that wants rip people from their money.

Hi Ross,
You have conquered the biggest part by realizing that the 2012 doomsday claims are fake. This nonsense can be pretty scary for people who haven't had enough science yet to know that the claims of the doomsayers simply can't happen, most of them not ever and the rest not during your lifetime. It has all been invented by people who have absolutely no scientific background, and it is all a pack of lies. These doomsday stories weren't even made up for 2012. They just changed it to 2012 when their previous doomsday didn't happen. They are making lots of money off this and they don't care who they hurt.

It isn't surprising that you would dream about it since it is on your mind and you're frightened about it. Keep in mind that the people behind the end of the world hoax are authors, not scientists. No scientist agrees with any of their claims. Take a look at the subjects listed on the left side of the page. Click on them and read about what has you concerned. You might also want to read about some of the crackpots responsible for the hoax. I think you'll feel better. Come back and ask questions any time you like. We'll be here to help you.

Hello Ross,

I take pains to leave religion out of my posts, since it would usually be only a distraction. However, I think I have to say something about it in your case.

Regarding baptism, I'd suggest reading Early Christians in their Own Words, by Eberhard Arnold, which is available as a free download. I also recommend (with a few reservations) William Law's A Serious Call to a Devout and Holy Life, which is also available free. I think you'll see that "just in case" is not a valid reason for praying, and especially not for getting baptized.

Thank you :) As I said in my post, I have been praying and now ive been hearing stuff about the rapture in May this year, is it real? And I really want to get baptized but im not sure of my parents reaction :/

No, the rapture in May this year is not real. It is yet another prediction without any basis, this time by Harold Camping. I have already commented on it here.
If you want to be baptized, then that is entirely up to you. But, at the age of 13, you should discuss it with your parents. Maybe you have a teacher or pastor to whom you could speak. However, don't do it solely on the basis of what people like Camping are saying.

Ross, you can get baptized, but not because a "biblical researcher" says the world will end in 2011.

Hi Ross, I have a 10 yr old son and I couldn't imagine if he had to go through what you and myself once is going through. I am so sorry that these creeps are scaring you and a lot of other people. You are not alone on this! Remember that. You should talk to your parents, school counselor or a trusted adult. I think that even though you know it's not real, you may still be experiencing an attack of fear (panic attack) Stay strong hunn, and please tell someone of your fears.

Ross: one more thing to add
There is no such word (Rapture) in the Bible. The bible is not meant to be takin literal, and a lot of churches take it literal. I do however believe in God but that is nothing to fear. We were born to sin and make mistakes so that we can grow and learn from them.
Dont get babtised out of fear. Never belive in what you hear and only half of what you see!

Thank you so much everyone, I can't even believe that you people understand me so well, thanks, you have changed my life around in the space of a couple of days, I will no longer live life in fear, I will live it in the knowledge there are people there for me and that I will survive through to the next day =] You guys are the best. Thank you for sharing your story, Ross. I believe you have grown and become much more mature! Remember to find evidences before you believe in anything. You can try to do some homework (or research) in your leisure time if you still not being confident of it. As me for example I'm studying science and engineering in school. And I have lots of doubts too, but kept in my mind to turn to find "evidences" whenever I encounter problems. That's how and why we are fighting for the 2012 hoax
