Hi. I've been reading this site for a few months now and I must say I really appreciate what you are doing here. It's nice to see a site dedicated to DEBUNKING these 2012 scenarios, instead of another one perpetuating them. I've been reading the comments section as well, and there seem to be a lot of intelligent people here. However, there also seem to be a lot of proponents of the 2012 doomsday theory who come here with seemingly no other reason than to insult and make completely unfounded claims about the site. I find it amazing how upset and truly offended these people seem to be that you guys are trying to help people out. I guess they don't realize what effect their "theories" have had on people, and even children, all around the globe.
I wonder what truly motivates these people. I understand many of the proponents publish books, and their motivation seems pretty clear. What about the other people though? I mean, not everyone who subscribes to the idea that the world will end in 2012 has published a book on the subject. Do they want people to come to their site? Or subscribe to their youtube channel? I just don't get it. I see people come here and say that you guys are just "covering up for the Government" or "trying to hide the truth", and I think that is downright silly. I mean, does the Government really know more about what will happen in the FUTURE than anyone else? It seems this site is trying to SPREAD truth, not dispel it. I find it somewhat infuriating that this site is genuinely helping people, and these people don't want you to. They say they want to "prepare" people for the upcoming events, but can you really prepare for something catastrophic? I mean, wouldn't a world-wide apocalyptic event be unavoidable to the majority of people? People spread "the word" that the world is ending and they give (or sell) the information on how to survive it. How would they even know how to survive such a devastating event? Did little green men on Niburu tell them?
What I also find funny, is how these people will rarely (if ever) have a civilized discussion on the subject. They spew their rhetoric and run off never to be seen again. If they feel so strongly about a subject that they would come to a site that proposes a well thought out COUNTER argument to said subject, you would think they would be willing, and able, to defend their statements and "theories" in a mature and respectful manner. Kind of funny how this is hardly ever the case. Probably because they don't have anything to defend their arguments with. Just an endless circle of sites that say the same things yet provide absolutely no scientific evidence to back them up.
Penn and Teller were on to something when they said "when the world ends, we are probably going to die". So why bother spreading all this garbage around the internet (and television) when all it is going to do is scare people? Even if they are right, so what? The world ends and no one is around to notice or care. If it doesn't end, they look like fools, which happens exactly 100% of the time with these doomsayers. Of course when nothing happens on December 21, 2012, they will just say the Mayans were "off on their date" and come up with a new one. And then another one after that. And another after that. So on and so forth. I just wish they would go away.
Anyway, sorry for the rant. I just wanted to get that off my chest. I think I'm just as frustrated as you guys are with these "2012ers" (well maybe not quite as much). Thank you for putting this site up and actually trying to help people get over their fears. It helped me a few months back and I'll definitely be linking people to this site who may also need help too.
