there's someone spamming this website 2012hoax on paltalk room named 'the science of 2012'
doubting, questioning, weighing, testing
i'm not the person who made the room or asked for the room to be named that way
i enjoy the discussion in that room because its alternative to what mainstream media discusses, be it considered fringe or conspirotiral even if its not true i enjoy it like i enjoy watching sci-fi movies but I dont at the end of the day make it my religion
whoever is doing it also has like 20-30 bots in the room as guests, not sure what the intent of doing this is
you guys can continue to believe the official story that its fireworks and trucks killing all the birds lol but we're talking more about earth magnetic taking into account that birds rely on this as compass and directions
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWpGvXG3CUE - explained in a kids tv show about birds navigation
we're talking more about earth magnetic taking into account that birds rely on this as compass and directions
So who's spamming whom?
Judging by this discussion you guys could do with educating yourselves by visiting the 2012hoax site.
just making discussion and the only reason i'm on your site is because of the spam linking here
please watch the youtube video, its scientific fact that birds rely on magnetics as do other animals to travel
another article of turtles as well using it http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1344104/Leatherback-turtles-conquer-Atlantic-swimming-thousands-miles-straight-line.html
However, they are thought to use a combination of vision - relying on the position of the stars and sun - and a sense of the Earth's magnetic field, to steer their way.
so the theory we have is there's something up with earths magnetics field causing these animals to react strangely like they have been passed few days not fireworks and trucks lol
Well, if you'd like to post a link to spaceweather.com or some other scientific site saying that the Earth's magnetic field is behaving abnormally, then I might take an interest.
Has anyone detected any changes in the strength or direction of the Earth's magnetic field during the time the birds have been falling? Are you aware that die-offs of birds are not unusual? More importantly, did you think to ask yourself such questions to see whether your "theory" might be wrong? Or do you even recognize any need to do so?
If you look through some of our posts made since New Years Day, you'll see that we've been spending a lot of time here trying to help people who are badly depressed or scared by the sort of willfully ignorant drivel you throw around in the 2012 science room at Paltalk. So if you're here to whine about people who are trying to inject some critical thinking into your discussions, go cry me a river.
"I was glad to be able to answer him promptly and with confidence. Without hesitation, I told him I didn't know." Mark Twain
yes the theory could be complete bullshit this is why people discuss it, nobody is putting it in stone as fact
its a discussion
fear mongering is terrible and i don't think anybody in the room is promoting that

Door. Hit. Etc.
that is a fact that birds rely on magnetic fields to travel http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/09/070927-magnetic-birds.html
And? Why not read some of our links for once? You know, the one's showing us this is not something new?
And, stop cherry picking the die-offs, please. The birds as a minority compared to the fish, crabs, and other such sea-life. But we all know marine-life rely on magnetic fields to travel.
Cherry picking woo artists for the win!
Ok, the birds can be affected by magnetic field. But the mass birds deaths can't be related with this, because nor you, nor nobody can prove this. Give me some proof, and I talk to you.

Shift of Earth's magnetic north pole impacts Tampa airport
TAMPA — Scientists say the magnetic north pole is moving toward Russia and the fallout has reached — of all places — Tampa International Airport.
The airport has closed its primary runway until Jan. 13 to repaint the numeric designators at each end and change taxiway signage to account for the shift in location of the Earth's magnetic north.
The closure of the west parallel runway will result in more activity on the east parallel runway and more noise for residential areas of south Tampa.
The busiest runway will be re-designated 19R/1L on aviation charts. It's been 18R/36L, indicating its alignment along the 180-degree approach from the north and the 360-degree approach from the south.
Later this month, the airport's east parallel runway and the seldom used east-west runway will be closed to change signage to their new designations.
The Federal Aviation Administration required the runway designation change to account for what a National Geographic News report described as a gradual shift of the Earth's magnetic pole at nearly 40 miles a year toward Russia because of magnetic changes in the core of the planet.
Shift of Earth's magnetic north pole impacts Tampa airport
So what? are airplanes coming crashing down because of this?
The busiest runway will be re-designated 19R/1L on aviation charts. It's been 18R/36L,
19 = 190 degree 18 =180 degree, a 10 degree interval.
Maybe the magnetic field changed from 184.5 to 184.5 so the rounding off is now 190 instead of 180. It does not mean it changed 10 degrees!
I'm making this post here because Wikidot didn't provide a space for a reply to Paltalk's post about the Tampa airport.
What Paltalk's link describes is a gradual, continual change in magnetic declination. It's been quantified on every topographic map for decades, so it's nothing new. You can read about it here.
"I was glad to be able to answer him promptly and with confidence. Without hesitation, I told him I didn't know." Mark Twain
you guys can continue to believe the official story that its fireworks and trucks killing all the birds lol
No, because we will cross-check these facts.
But your claim is even more thin, explain the mechanism that a bird would drop dead because a change in magnetic field?
fear mongering is terrible and i don't think anybody in the room is promoting that
Never said you were. See our link about straw-man arguments. But I do say you're being irresponsible, especially by banning people who try to keep you honest.
yes the theory could be complete bullshit this is why people discuss it, nobody is putting it in stone as fact
You didn't answer my question which was "Have you made an honest effort to find out whether you're wrong?" The answer, apparently, is "no".
"I was glad to be able to answer him promptly and with confidence. Without hesitation, I told him I didn't know." Mark Twain
I am not admin in that paltalk room, i dont run the room i'm only a regular visitor to the room and saw the spam so decided to visit your site and ask why are you spamming it
wrong about what? about considering other theories that are opposite from mainstream media
again i dont take these fringe theories and start altering my life based on them, its only interesting to hear them like it is to watch some imaginative sci-fi tv show….i Like being in those types of rooms and forums discussing these other theories because they are imaginative and interesting to me
It reminds me of Christians being angry at the Da Vinci Code movie because it might alter their belief structure when others just watch Da Vinci code because its interesting ideas but they aren't going to alter their life after watching the film based on those ideas because they go into the movie thinking its sci-fi anyway not reality
please watch the youtube video, its scientific fact that birds rely on magnetics as do other animals to travel
Then why are only some birds in some areas dying? Do you have any idea how common these die-offs are? I'll give ya a hint: very.
I'll give ya another hint: there's nothing wrong with our planet's magnetic field.
so the theory we have is there's something up with earths magnetics field causing these animals to react strangely like they have been passed few days not fireworks and trucks lol
Well, your "theory" (and I use that term loosely, if not sarcastically) is utterly devoid of supporting evidence.
so the theory we have is there's something up with earths magnetics field causing these animals to react strangely
What is your evidence for something in the magnetic field, do you have measured data that proves this claim?
Is your compass suddenly pointing in the wrong way?
Also what evidence do you have that birds instantly drop dead because the magnetic field is bit off? Magnetic fields gets influenced near metal and along electric lines, does that mean all birds drop dead because they cross a power line or a big ship?
And there have been no mass turtle deaths. Your theory has failed, thank you for proving so.
there's been other mammals dieing
don't know how sensitive each one is
either way i'm not claiming it to be the truth, i said it could be bullshit thats why we're having a discussion but the people on this forum are outright just need to slam it down because they are afraid of these other possibilities
there's been other mammals dieing
Why is this concerning, anyway?
just need to slam it down because they are afraid of these other possibilities
We are not afraid of these other possibilities. This is science, not speculation. The Paltalk room "Science of 2012" is not really science. Sorry, but any scientist could easily debunk each proposal you have.
You might want to educate your-self here.
Tomy
but the people on this forum are outright just need to slam it down because they are afraid of these other possibilities
If you're claiming to be a mind-reader, then why are you wasting your time here, instead of making a fortune as a psychic?
either way i'm not claiming it to be the truth, i said it could be bullshit
But you're not making an honest effort to find out whether you're wrong, either. First, you didn't try to find out whether die-offs are unusual. (They're not.) Second, you didn't try to find out whether there's anything unusual going on with the Earth's magnetic field. (There isn't.) And third, you folks at PalTalk ban people who ask these sorts of questions.
You've already been told these things several times here, but you're still stuck in a groove of
I think it's the magnetic field,
But that might be BS,
I never said it was true,
I haven't tried to find out if I'm wrong,
But you guys are afraid of these possibilities,
But it might be the magnetic field,
etc.
And you're doing this about a phenomenon (the die-offs) that you now know is quite common.
This is the sort of unproductive mental wheel-spinning that we've been seeing in the folks who are terrified about 2012. Getting out of it may well be a matter of life and death to them. So again, I have very little sympathy for your whining here.
"I was glad to be able to answer him promptly and with confidence. Without hesitation, I told him I didn't know." Mark Twain
i'm not asking for your sympathy
i'm asking whoever from this site to stop harassing the paltalk room or spamming it
I'm not an admin in that paltalk room, they do allow people to go on mic and talk openly but i'm sure they will ban if that person is being insulting in anyway
We need to spam, because is dangerous. People can freak out because this room is spreading the fear of 2012. So, it would be nice if it is closed.
Peace!
what is dangerous about it? Its people talking about something thats probably not going to happen
and the admin of the room said yesterday his emails have been getting attacked to…
fear resides from lack of understanding, not talking about something and tucking it away
in my opinion 2012 is going to come and go like 2000 did…nothing will happen
Because some peoples take 2012-hype seriously.
Read stories on this forum: some peoples are so feared that they are not able to normal life - 24/7 they think about 2012.
they are ideas
to the people afraid, remember that ideas are not facts
there was an idea that the year 2000 would be the end of the world and it came and went
there's been ideas before of the destruction of society and they also came and went to
sadly i think most people who are afraid are coming from a religious background and they have beliefs of God, Satan and some rapture so reality seems even more twisted sadly
i'm really trying to understand why some people are afraid of this idea…maybe if you could consider 2012 to be like a science fiction movie where its merely presenting some imaginative ideas which aren't reality but something entertaining….
why some people are afraid of this idea
Do the following: go to the 'stories' forum and see the stories. Then, think about it.
""Over the weeks she had shown signs of severe depression, she would ask things like "Why would God do such a thing"— I'm not going to lie, she had asked questions that even I didn't know how to answer, I didn't know what to say, I didn't know what to do.
She had begun to slowly slip into a dangerous state of depression, she wouldn't eat, she wouldn't drink anything, over the course of six months she had spontaneously cried and sobbed uncontrollably, she was inconsolable.""""
- had she had no belief in God…..which is this supernatural belief…. she would not believe any other fairy tales
and even if you do believe in god or the bible why are you believing the mayans which is something different and not mentioned in your own beliefs…..seems strange to tie in the two
sadly i think most people who are afraid are coming from a religious background
Wrong, it influences even none believers. Kids gets influenced.
It might be your 9 year old daughter, sister, mother, family member next. It might be your gilrfriend, wife, schoolmate, best friend next. Are you willing to take responsibility to wreck lives? The damage is closer t(than you think.
what do you think i'm doing to damage people?
i'm not spreading any 2012 stuff to family or people in real life and i always have a motto of question everything, i'm not asking people to start worshiping a sun god or some 2012 date
i'm not spreading any 2012 stuff to family or people in real life
Are you sure?
Your little sister might read the forums you are posting too.
So you don't think that the pole shift that big a deal then and that the bird dead might be caused by something else than magnetic influences? Something more natural and logical?
even if someone were to hear me talking about magnetic influences on birds it sounds batshit insane to the normal person so they would think i'm crazy anyway which most people do so i dont think they give me the time of day anyway
I dont notice any fear with familybut thats maybe because we were not raised religiously to believe other fairytales so the 2012 one is not something they are taking any credence to…they say oh its a movie right or mayans ya…..roll eyes like its bullshit
I'm still interested in it because like i was saying i like the genre but it doesn't become my reality like watching x-files i'm not going to say thats how the world is now because of ideas presented there
No, we don't need to spam other sites. I can't support 'drive by' postings anywhere. If the argument being presented is "go to 2012hoax.org, they answer all of your questions" then it is not an argument or discussion. That's as bad behavior as the people who come here and say "go read Jenkins' book, it answers all of your questions".
If someone wants to go to the paltalk room mentioned and have a discussion, then they are certainly welcome to do so (from my standpoint). From past experience in 'pro-2012' sites, I don't imagine that will last long.
However, the behavior mentioned (spamming, setting up bots, etc) is abusive, and I'm asking whoever is doing it to stop, because it reflects badly on this site.
"Do you ever think about things you do think about?" - Henry Drummond to Matthew Harrison Brady in Inherit the Wind
When I said "we need to spam", I over-reacted a bit. Sorry, Astrogeek and Paltalk_Person. Anyway, I didn't find this room in Paltalk website.
Hope you accept my apologise
i'm sure they will ban if that person is being insulting in anyway
The transcript we linked to earlier shows that people are being banned simply for questioning the "science" presented in your room. Now if that transcript is inaccurate, then I apologize, but I point out that you have not challenged it.
i'm asking whoever from this site to stop harassing the paltalk room or spamming it
If you had limited yourself to that request, that would have been fine. As Astrogeek says, that behavior is abusive, and if anyone here is involved, they should stop, no matter how hypocritical it is for PalTalk to complain about spammers while banning people for questioning its "science".
However, you went well beyond that request. By checking the time stamps, anyone can see that you're the one who raised the subject of the die-offs, in a post in which you LOL'd people here for "believing the official story that its fireworks and trucks". (Which, by the way, is not an accurate representation of our views.) You later accused us of being afraid to examine your theory, etc.
So, if you now want to limit yourself to requesting that the spamming stop, fine. The owner of this website (Astrogeek) has seconded you, and so have I. But if you want to continue complaining about the spamming while making the sort of posts here that we'd be banned for making at PalTalk, then cry me a river.
"I was glad to be able to answer him promptly and with confidence. Without hesitation, I told him I didn't know." Mark Twain
i said it could be bullshit thats why we're having a discussion but the people on this forum are outright just need to slam it down because they are afraid of these other possibilities
We are not afraid, we just ask your proof of your claims. Not some fuzzy claim, but real tangible proof.
Questions: How can a magnetic field kill a bird, and what is your evidence of a changed magnetic field.
Gotta love a good troll who is up for debate :)
however I do have a ineresting link for you all to have a look at, I don't find it freaky but it does explain why the weather was so extreme last year [http://www.terradaily.com/reports/Scientists_find_drastic_weather-related_Atlantic_shifts_999.html]
I have posted this here because I don't want to start another thread because it might make some people wonkie :) enjoy
Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.
Albert Einstein
There is nothing to debate. It's a science fact.
Also, there are some polemic surrounding global warming. Look at here. Maybe this can be a better discussion. I'm tired of the birds.
First of all, I have at no time "spammed" the Paltalk 2012 room. (spamming is defined as sending bulk messages indiscriminately to random recipients.) On three occasions, I have brought the Paltalk 2012 room's attention to the 2012hoax site. I have also been told by two other Paltalkers that they have mentioned the 2012hoax site. For doing this, we have all been ejected and banned.
The guy who hosts the Paltalk 2012 room (Earthplay) is a pseudoscientist and a scaremonger. He is truly, deeply, ignorant of basic science (but doesn't realise it). I have witnessed some very knowledgeable people enter his room, from whom he could have learned a lot, but whom he treated like idiots. He speaks of "science" in that vague "word salad" style typical of woo artists and crackpots. The confusion is monumental. (Example; "in this galactic crossing ,, the milkyway galaxy spinning have equitorial zones when you cross , the electrical properties reverse and we cross an area known as the DARK RIFT a cloud of debri")
Earthplay listens to a multitude of cranks, but most particularly to James Mc Canney, whose theories have been described by Phil Plait at Bad Astronomy as "not just bad, they're truly awful, just as wrong as they could be".
Earthplay's approach is very similar to McCanneys;- whatever Science says, he says the opposite …..
The Sun's energy comes from nuclear fusion, so he says it's from electrical currents .. the solar wind is neutral overall, so he says it's charged .. comets contain water and are cold, so he says they're hot and dry .. comets lose mass and shrink over time, so he says they gain mass and grow enormous .. Jupiter is a Gas Giant, so he says it's not, due to accumulated cometary and other detritus .. global warming is the consensus, so he says we're headed for a new Ice Age .. the Solar System is part of the Milky Way galaxy, so he says it's from the Sagittarius Dwarf Galaxy .. need I go on? (See below for some links disproving these)
The Paltalk "Sciences of 2012" room is not about science. It is about opposing scientific authority (and in fact ANY form of authority, police, state, medical, etc). It is about uncritically believing the most ridiculous "alternative" views, not because they have weighed the evidence for and against them, but BECAUSE THEY ARE ALTERNATIVE.
Add to this, the spreading of FEAR of 2012, and it's a pretty disgraceful chatroom.

This is a fantastic resource killing off EU.
Yeah it is. I enjoyed reading this. The first link gets kind of shattered by the guy in the comments section. Of course, I know little about the subject so I cant differentiate bologna from science with this EU theory. Its all over my head. Even Oba's explanation went way over my head in the other forum. It sucks because it seems like many of the 2012 theories stand on plasma cosmology or electric universe.
I hope you didn't take my post to mean that I thought you were spamming them. I was mostly reacting to the statement (not by you) that "we need to spam".
It now appears that his complaint may be unfounded. I would like him to provide some transcripts of the so-called spamming, should he decide that he wants to back up his claim. He can use the 'contact' form above to send them to me.
"Do you ever think about things you do think about?" - Henry Drummond to Matthew Harrison Brady in Inherit the Wind
There are feral python deaths in Florida because of the cold weather. The invasive species is a tropical one and cannot tolerate cold. BUT no one seems to be interested in an invasive species die off. They were poised to destroy the ecosystem of the Everglades. Not much discussion that either except an occasional science program. So if it is warm blooded or exciting and massive and tied into doomsday in some way then yes, media frenzy.
Manatees have been dying off from the cold as well. That has been reported on and on TV as well. But no mass hysteria there since well manatees do not number in the 1000s. But since it is so few of them, the die off is as dramatic as 1000s of blackbirds, which are considered pests in the areas they were reported.
