Hi Anna
Many claims for predictions of doom in 2012 fall into a well-defined pattern:
1) Make your claim that x predicts something for 2012.
2) Try and give x some credibility by making false claims of previous correct predictions.
So it is with the web-bot. It's just a piece of software which listens to internet 'chatter'. If lots of people are discussing 2012, then the web-bot will say "Hey! 2012". It's just conceivable that it might pick up a planned terrorist plot, but there's no evidence that it did so in the case of 9/11. Like all claims for foreknowledge of 9/11, it's only ever produced after the event, not before. Strange, that.
Where the web-bot will certainly fail is with natural events. If humans can't predict them, then neither can the web-bot.
Astrogeek gave a longer explanation here and there is a page under construction here.
By the way, why do they call Mark van Stone a Mayan Princess?
Both Mark Van Stone and a Mayan Princess appeared on the show, debunking 2012. The narration probably went along the lines of "Mark Van Stone and a Mayan Princess say it's bunk."
