I thank you for having this site. I am a mother of a 3 year old and a 10 year old. My 10 year old has became very depressed that she's finding it impossible to enjoy her child hood. She has became frightened to her sorroundings. I aslo feel guilty to believing rumors regarding doomsday. I've also been suffering from depression but try to not show it to my children. I was holding that guilt of why I brought my children to this horrible world. But thanks to you I can see things differently and I enjoy each and everyday. I am going to show this site to my daughter regarding the hoax that has been published by these heartless people. They don't only hurt us mentally, they are hurting our children and having them think horrible things which can become suicidal. I wish someone can sue the Discovery Channel and other authors publishing their books. Thanks again for your support.
Hi Ana,
Thanks for sharing your story with us. I hope our site helps your daughter. I had to go through some of it with my 10 year old grandson when I was there for Christmas. He saw me posting answers, so he asked me how I knew that it wasn't going to happen. I hadn't known that he was hearing the 2012 nonsense at school. Anyway, I went through it with him and he seemed okay with it. I was kind of startled to learn that, with all my work fighting the hoax, I had been unaware that my own grandson was concerned about it. I had asked the older kids if they were hearing it and if they had any worries over it, but I hadn't expected Noah to be hearing it at his age. Anyway, I got the opportunity to put his mind at ease. With your help and support and going through our site with her to explain what she doesn't understand, your daughter should be able to get over her fear. If you have any questions about it, be sure to ask. We'll be here to help.
Ana,
I, honestly, didn't know that the Discovery Channel was making bogus documentaries about 2012. Well, that's new. However, I am glad you are fine now. How your 10 years old could forgot 2012? First of all, she has to stop watching "Hysterya" Channel, National Geogra"fear" Channel and, now the Disco"very scared" channels. They will just feed her fear, more and more.
I never said that before, and I never liked this, but I think that you should include a "Parental Control" in the Internet. With it, you can know which woo websites she visits. Is quite simple. But is your decision. We can't do more, unfortunately.
Peace!
Yes, Discovery Channel has had a few documentary's about it. Mostly the supervolcano story.
Everything is proceeding as I have forseen. Wait… when did that happen?
Hello Ana.
Yes, it's sad on how badly it can affect people, especially younger children. My dad has actually had the History Channel blocked off to a password so that way his step-grandchildren won't stumble upon it. My advice would be just to avoid anything dealing with 2012 "doomsday" and spend time with your kids. And also if you really need to block off the History Channel and perhaps Discovery Channel (even though they do have some things like Mythbusters which is a good show) so that way you and or your kids won't have to see another type of "doomsday" documentary.
Everything is proceeding as I have forseen. Wait… when did that happen?
Yeah, Hysteria Channel and Discovery Channels don't give two craps about who they hurt with this nonsense. All they care about is all the views they get when they slap doomsday garbage on their schedules. After this doomsday junk washes over, I'd hate to be at their TV station when a tidal wave of hate mail and complaints arrives. They deserve it for adding fuel to the fire.
Hi Carl,
Well said. I agree. I used to enjoy watching these channels but they now fill their schedules with doomathons and other tripe.
But there are still some good programs, like MythBusters and that program of Bear Grylls, "Born Survivor". Both in Discovery Channel. On the other hand, The Hysterya Channel is completely bogus. :-(
Don't get me wrong, I still like watching the Discovery Channel. They don't show nearly as much crap as the History Channel.
The History Channel used to be interesting to watch until it became woo woo fuel.
