They need to put a bann on this 2012 movie I'm getting really upset and I'm bout to take action my self
First of all, calm down… breathe.
You are welcome to do this kind of thing, but not violently, like you are behaving right now. Perhaps creating a blog, a website, helping to debunk the claims with us or alone… you have many ways to stop the fear. But with intelligence and slowly.
A nice place to "protest" is at Y! Answers or YouTube, because both are the sources of the fear. It's like when you cut the root of a tree.
Anyway, I appreciate your benevolence, but do it with consciousness.
Peace!
sounds like Ivan when he off on one LOL
But I have to agree :) they should stop scaring kids and adults with these kinda movies.

I agree, too. But the movie is not the main source of the fears. Actually, both Yahoo! Answers and YouTube are the bigger responsible for scaring people. Just my opinion.
Oh youtube are the worst I swear, people with their videos and stuff oh look at this we seen this and hat today, some people really do not have lifes, their bigest kick is scaring people that don't know enough about something not to be scared. sad really :(

The first 2012 related video I ever saw on Youtube was on the solar flares (this was how I discovered 2012hoax.org)! And what happened in this particular video was they took the shots from the movie Knowing and made it seem if this were going to be (projected) reality in 2012. At this point, I had never seen the movie so I had no clue that's where this video got the shots. After seeing David Morrison say in his video that we would never experience a "Knowing" type scenario, I decided to watch the movie to see what he was talking about…and that's when I recognized the shots from the Youtube video. I was petrified after watching that stupid video, but then, it lead me to this site, so I guess it was a blessing in disguise o_O

How did you get from a youtube video on solar flares to us? Did someone leave a comment, or did you use a search engine?

YouTube has alot of trolls on it nowadays. I'm not surprised they are going to try to scare people for their own amusement.
Everything is proceeding as I have forseen. Wait… when did that happen?
I googled solar flares which brought me to a NASA site (after reaing too many 'woo' sites), that site lead me to David's "Ask an Astrobiologist" site and from there I read multiple Q's and A's and one of his answers to a 14 year old girl had the link to 2012hoax in it.

My friend sent me the link to this site after I was trying to get my younger cousin to calm down.

Hi Donnell;
Please read the rules about posting, and remember we have kids reading these forums, some as young as 8 or 9 years old. Like others, I appreciate the depth of your concern and anger, but calm down a bit, and focus.
What is the best way you can help the kids scared by the movie? It's probably not by trying to ban the movie… that will just backfire. If it does anything at all (which is doubtful) it will just give them some free publicity. In my experience, the kids who are scared by the movie are scared by the possibility (in their mind) that the movie might be true.
Instead, why don't you volunteer to speak to a classroom about 2012, and use it as an opportunity to talk to the kids about critical thinking? That will be more effective than a protest. Kind of like the difference between giving a man a fish, and teaching him how to fish… give them the tools to figure out that the movie is BS.

2012 is only a movie. We know that this movie is just fiction.
But the Youtube sites are really the bad guys. these people try to claim it is true, unlike what the movie does.
I love SF movies but 2012 is clearly a bad movie.
Hi Donnell,
I understand how you feel, but it's a little late to try to get the movie banned. It was released over a year ago and isn't even in theaters anymore. The makers of the movie would just love to get some free publicity like protesting it and trying to get it banned. They would probably release it in theaters again. As some of the others have said, you could accomplish more by answering questions to let people know that it was not based on any real science. Also, YouTube videos and the Hysteria Channel are two of the biggest continuing contributors to the 2012 hysteria.
I assume that by "take action myself" you aren't talking about violence. That would accomplish nothing. The internet is really the most powerful method of getting your message to the most people. You could join us and answer questions here, join a Q&A site, or you could start your own site.
A great way to help is creating an account in Y! Answers. Every week, someone ask is the world will end in 2012. It's impressive.
Each question makes me think "where is the critical thinking?". The web has many, many websites claiming a catastrophe in 2012, but there are many saying otherwise.
So, there is one thing you can do, and it's easy. Join Yahoo! Ansfears (hmm) and start fighting. I will do the same. I already have an account. :-)
Good Luck!
Every week, someone ask is the world will end in 2012.
Make that about 300 a week.
Hey Tomy,
I'll be watching for you on Y!A.
I was using my profile at Yahoo! Answers, but in Brazil. I just "adapted" it for english and start using it at Yahoo! Answer USA.

My first english answer above.
Are you using Y!A too?
Peace!
