Can anyone shed some enlightenment on this Harold Camping guy? I only know a little, which is he had predicted the "rapture" and end of the world before and that he broke away from his church in the 90's. And now he says the "rapture" will start on May 21, 2011 and the world we be done for by October 2011. Is he just another one of those looney guys that like to start cults or try too? I just would like to know where he got the so called mathematical equation? I mean I know where he supposively got the numbers, but what about the equation? If anything, I believe he is the anti-christ. However, with all the 2012 hubbub, I can't but help think about this guys prediction too. Any help on this topic by the moderators on this site would be helpful.

Yes.
I just would like to know where he got the so called mathematical equation?
Nowhere. He claims this to be more convincing.
I mean I know where he supposively got the numbers, but what about the equation?
Hmmm… What equation?
If anything, I believe he is the anti-christ.
Auch! Do you really need to claim this?
Harold Camping is just another guy that claims be able to decode Bible with his magical equations. Furthermore, I consider Bible a weird book, honestly (oh, no! But it hits many predictions before).
Anyway, Camping is a protestant. This kind of people likes Armageddon prophecies. Such trolls!
I've given this answer before, but I'll repeat it here.
Is he just another one of those looney guys
That's about it!
It's just another example of pseudo-religious bunk by people trying to interpret the bible to fit in with their own crackpot ideas. Here is his 'calculation':
"The number 5, Camping concluded, equals "atonement." Ten is "completeness." Seventeen means "heaven." Camping patiently explained how he reached his conclusion for May 21, 2011.
"Christ hung on the cross April 1, 33 A.D.," he began. "Now go to April 1 of 2011 A.D., and that's 1,978 years."
Camping then multiplied 1,978 by 365.2422 days - the number of days in each solar year, not to be confused with a calendar year.
Next, Camping noted that April 1 to May 21 encompasses 51 days. Add 51 to the sum of previous multiplication total, and it equals 722,500.
Camping realized that (5 x 10 x 17) x (5 x 10 x 17) = 722,500.
Or put into words: (Atonement x Completeness x Heaven), squared."

In other words, it's total numerological nonsense. Add, subtract and multiply various numbers until they give the result you want. Why not multiply 10 by 17 and then take the square of that and add 5? Where do the rules come from? Out of thin air, of course.
Camping claims that 21st May 2011 is the Rapture and 21st October 2011 is the end of the world. Since he also predicted the end of the world for 27th September 1994, 29th September 1994, 2nd October 1994 and 31st March 1995, perhaps he ought to call this the really, really, definite, I honestly mean it this time, end of the world.
