I'm sure several of you already know my story. My 12-year-old niece encountered 2012 on the internet and was distraught about it for a little while, but now she's back to living her life and being a normal preteen. I myself was freaking out about it for a time before I came here. But the worst thing about my story is a chapter that's not even mine to tell. My friend's cousin, attempting suicide a few weeks ago because she didn't want to be here for 2012. I can't give a bunch of gory little details for the sake of their privacy, but I can tell you all that my friend showed this site to her cousin when she came home from the hospital. Things aren't great, but they're already better. She's seeking professional help and going to support groups now, and my friend tells me that she visits this site almost every night. Despite that, she still has nightmares. Some of them are terrible and she wakes up screaming, and others are just lost in a haze. In all, some days are better than others, but she's on the mend, and her family is hopeful. She may have made posts here, I'm not sure. But I know she's coming here and reading everything she can, and she's trying to piece her life back together.
It's terrible to think that some people aren't going to be as lucky as she was. Some people are going to succeed in killing themselves, all of it driven by some apocalypse-nonsense which has been littering humanity since the dawn of recorded history. But I want you all to know what you've done here. You've saved three lives. My friend's cousin, my niece, and me. You've been able to give people back their peace of mind and their will to live. It may sound really over-dramatic and corny, but coming from someone who has seen and experienced this level of fear first-hand, it really does mean a lot.
The 2012 story is done for us. The three of us are able to start new stories now. I just wanted to give you all a final thank you =)
