If we only have 2 years left, why keep trying? Everything we've worked for and toward has been for nothing. The 2012 doomsday has made me lose my appetite, I'm not sleeping, I've got the shakes. I used to be a normal girl. I was popular and had tons of friends. Now, I stay inside..crying a lot. Just thinking about scenes from that movie…the wall of water…the earthquakes….It's just so terrifying. My parents don't understand my fear..my friends don't. My BF broke up with me due to this. I, literally, spend hours each day looking for this stuff.
If we only have 2 years left….
Well, there's a whole website here dedicated to showing you why that isn't true.
Did you read the entire website, the forum threads and comments? Sure you didn't.
Sorry, but those problems are up to you. We can help you saying that this is a hoax, but you need to calm down.
Hi SoScared,
The good news is, we have lots of years left. You need to go through and read the pages here, but I can tell you that all the claims of doomsday in 2012 are false.
The Mayan calendar just starts a new cycle, like our calendar does when it runs out on December 31.
There were no prophecies about the world ending 2012 by anyone but the scam artists promoting the hoax. Not by the Maya, Nostradamus, the Egyptians, the Hopi, Edgar Cayce, or the Bible.
There is no comet, asteroid, or imaginary planet headed for us.
There are no alignments in 201, planetary or galactic, except for the approximate alignment that happens on the solstice every year.
Solar flares happen all the time and they have no effect on us. The next solar maximim is expected to occur in May 2013 and to be weaker than the last one in 2001.
The rotational poles can't reverse. A reversal of the magnetic poles happens over a period of hundreds to thousands of years and has no effect on us.
You need to stop spending your time searching for things to scare yourself with. There is nothing at all special about 2012. The big 2012 hoax has gone wild because of the internet, YouBoob, and the Hysteria Channel. Kids think that everything they read on the internet is true. The actual fact is that very little of it is true. Everyone is out to sell something. 2012 is just a giant marketing ploy. If you really feel that you must keep on searching, look for scientific sites, not crackpot ones. Search for 2012 debunk or hoax instead of doomsday. Better yet, stop searching for it. Go our with your friends and do things that you enjoy.
If you have questions after reading the pages about the things that have you worried, come back and ask. We'll be here for you.
There's no reason to be afraid of this. I'm sorry you're going through all this and that it ended a relationship. But like JuJu said, look through the site and see if it will bring you any comfort.
The movie is just a movie and nothing in the movie is going to happen.
Everything is proceeding as I have forseen. Wait… when did that happen?
SoScared,
Besides resources like this website, I've found that common sense is your best friend if you're feeling anxiety over 2012. I started realizing when browsing through these forums heavily that there have been many different doomsday dates (I'm talking hundreds, if not thousands) predicted over the years. 2012 is the main focus of many woo-artists, as was Y2K, and of course people like Harold Camping who are convinced that biblical rapture will take place in, by his "calculations", three months from now. I would also point to Ivan Gorelik, Luis Sancho, and others who were CONVINCED that the Large Hadron Collider would wipe us all out last November.
With that in mind, I will point you to this website: http://www.abhota.info/end1.htm. It is a chronological list of doomsday predictions since 2800BC. I find it unlikely that it is even a comprehensive list, there have probably been several hundred MORE doomsday predictions throughout history. As you can see, there are even some that are predicted for the future, all the way up to the year 2040. But as it says at the end of the list: "Guess what, we're still here, folks!!".
I encourage you to read through that site thoroughly. I don't know much about the site as a whole, but the doomsday list is very well put-together and almost all of the failed predictions are complete with citations.
"2009 According to Earth changes prophetess Lori Adaile Toye of the I AM America Foundation, a series of Earth changes beginning in 1992 and ending in 2009 will cause much of the world to be submerged, and only 1/3 of America's population will survive. You can even order a map of the flooded USA from her website!"
Guess what? We're still here!
