My companion and I had often marveled at the silly claims of this hoax. We knew it was bogus, but we did not know why people were making the claims. Finally, this website gives a logical reason. Sell a book. Sell a bomb shelter. Sell something that will protect you from disaster. It does not matter what they claim, only that you transfer your money to them. Swiping your wallet has always been reason enough for any pickpocket.

Hi David,
You hit the nail right on the head with that one. The hoaxers are writing volumes of total garbage and people are buying it, along with assorted other 2012 junk. I had considered writing a book exposing the 2012 hoax because several people have commented that there are so many books by 2012 proponents and none against it. I haven't done so because we aren't accepting any money for doing this and I don't want to change that.

Exactly. People will take something and milk it to it's fullest extent, which in this case it's the 2012 "doomsday." They know if they use fear, they can get people to do anything they want.

2012 is sensationalism (that's the word).
When someone does something just for money, this person doesn't deserve any respect and must be ignored. But that's not happening.
