I just want to point something out, since I have seen some people throwing the Hindu name out there saying they said something about 2012. This is an attempt to give it more credence because Hinduism is the oldest known religion in the world, I'm sure. I investigated this and it looks as though in Hindu creation mythology says that: "The Hindus say the Universe lasts for a day of Brahma then is destroyed, it then restarts. Each Universe lasts 4.32 billion of years and we are only part way through the present one with billions of years to go." We are, by my calculations, referencing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hindu_units_of_measurement, 2,147,040,000 years into the current day of Brahma with 2,172,960,000 years left, so around half way through the day of Brahma. So as you can say, the above quote from a yahoo answer is true, and the Hindus say something completely different with their creation mythology ending the current "world" a couple billion years from now. What I do find interesting is it seems they do seem to start the "Kali Yuga" at 3102 BC, close to the start date of the long count in the Mayan calendar. Any thoughts on that? As I pointed out though, the statements about Hindu calendars ending or changing "worlds" or whatever in 2012 is wrong, and doesn't happen for a couple billion years.
