If nothing will happen, than why is everything predicted for 12/21… Mayan calendar and Patrick Geryl?
Can you give an example of what predictions you are talking about?
I'm not the one to help with Geryl, but as far as the Maya calendar please remember that the correlation used to translate the Mayan calendar with our current calendar is still in dispute. To Maya archeologists, its really not that big of a deal. They don't spend a lot of time on fixing the correlation because it really does not matter all that much in the long run. They are more interested in finding evidence for how the culture worked during its prime.
If you answer my question i'm sure there are tons of people here willing to help you.
Mayan calendar
The mayan calendar is not a countdown to the apocalypse.
Patrick Geryl?
That fool, dumb, ridiculous, nonsense, idiot and antiscientist?

All the scam artists are jumping on the 2012 bandwagon because that's the popular date and they can make lots of money taking advantage of it.
The Mayan calendar is simply a progessive count of days, not an instrument of prophecy. When it finishes the last number in this cycle, it goes back and starts again on day 1. The Maya didn't predict the end of the world. They did, however, leave an inscription talking about a date that translates to the year 4772. They planned a celebration of Pakal's attaining the "throne" for that date.
Geryl is one of the aforementioned scam artists. His claims are all ridiculous and have no scientific basis. He claims to be building shelters when he collects enough money from his followers. A shelter from the end of the world, hmmm….how does that work exactly? He will have lots of money that he won't have to give back because he included the weasel words that the shelters would be built when they had enough money. In 2013, when all the contributors try to get their money back, he can claim that he didn't bilk them. He just didn't get enough money.

Everything was predicted for 2000 and the years before that.

Everything was predicted for 2005 and the years after that.
Did you know that the world was supposed to end in 2010, as well as this year, 2011?
There's also a circulating doomsday theory involving 2013, 2014 and 2020.
So, forgive me if I seem skeptical after these idiots have failed with their predictions multiple times.
