So I have seen Sirius and it is a beautiful sight. My question is, has Sirius not always been a visible star or something? I see one of the main claims of "fulfillment of the blue star prophecy" from the Hopi claims is Sirius. I thought Sirius has always been a star and has always been visible, so if it's always been there how is that so? Thank you for the responses ahead of time.

Sirius has always been visible. It's an old star; hmm… we're talking about astronomy here. So, nothing sounds new. Stars are old, and if the Hopi thought that Sirius was the Blue Star Katchina, they're wrong. It seems that you tend to respect ancient mythology, and that's good. But that's just an old belief that has nothing to do with our astronomy today.
The Blue Star Katchina is not Sirius. And maybe is not even real.

What I mean is that newagers have tried linking the Hopi to 2012 by saying they were talking about Sirius, which I didn't understand. It's not like Sirius is some new thing, it has been around a long time, so there goes the link of them to 2012 eh…

It is amazing how I can not find a straight answer on anything on google. I type in Sirius and it takes me to a bunch of pages about alignments and things related to John Major Jenkins type things. Regardless, does anybody have any information about Sirius? I'm still trying to confirm whether or not Sirius has always been there/visible to us. I don't understand whether it is a new thing or not, I was to understand it isn't, but I see people treating like it just appeared recently or something.

The Sirius system has been in the sky for as long as humans have been looking at it, except for those in Earth's northernmost latitudes. The age of the stars is estimated at 225 to 250 million years. Stars don't just suddenly pop into view.
