Observation of the day:

Ever notice 2012ers (and conspiracy fans in general) believe there is a puzzle for them to solve, put there by the BAD GUYS? Examples:
(1) The Denver Airport has special artwork supposedly denoting there is a "DUMB" there.
(2) The first three letters of comet Elenin stand for Extinction Level Event, and is thus written ELEnin.
(3) If you spell illuminati backwards, followed by .com, into a web browser, you go to the NSA website. (Note: it really does, but the site is a privately owned redirect to the .gov site.)
(4) Recent Gorilla199 video saying NASA is inferring existence of Nibiru by writing an article about Tyche. There are many similar to this.

I'm sure many other examples can be found. Why do they have this belief, that the BAD GUYS are trying to help them with clues in the public domain? Aren't the BAD GUYS, well, bad?

What's just mind-numbingly ridiculous about woo artists' insistence on doing this is that the comet was discovered by Leonid Elenin, hence the name. Perhaps even more shameful, three of the first five Google hits for "Comet Elenin" (including the first) link not to scientific articles about the object, but to woo sites.

I think coming up with these secret hints is just an extension of the woo mind-set. They generally have to manufacture every other piece of "evidence" for their claims, so it's no surprise that they grasp at fabricated straws like these.

That's halarious. Who actually thought one day "I wonder what I would get if I typed illuminati backwards and put .com in?" and then found that? I want to see the look on their face when they did that.

It's one of the best cliche's out there. And idiots like that love to connect such wild things together.

The conspiracy nuts seem to want it both ways. On the one hand they believe that some all-powerful organisations are in the process of taking control, yet these same organisations are stupid enough to leave clues around and the aforementioned nuts are clever enough to find them.

So it's not about the Extraterrestrial Lizardmen Exchange Nearing Interstellar Neighbourhood?

Thankfully there's only a few months to wait to see how incredibly boring this comet will be compared to the grand events proponents have ascribed to it. Heck, I might even sleep in and miss the best viewing opportunity for it.
