Well another earthquake and tsunami, this time in Japan. If anyone mentions 2012 I am going to buy a bottle of red wine.
Hope Hawaii is OK though
21st December, [that date I don't wanna mention]
Skeptical: Why a pole shift is going to happen today?
Doomsayer: Remember that earthquake, in March, last year?
Yep, enjoy your red wine. :-)
Who wants to bet that they link it to the X-class flare. Some have already linked the multiple M-class flares to the 7.3 the other day. It's just so sad that they have to use something so tragic to promote their non-sense.
I have been doing some research into that subject, and have mentioned it here a couple times. Of course that was one of the first things that hit my mind. I just can't see anyway that solar flares/activity could influence seismic activity on Earth. I mean there isn't all of a sudden a huge rash of a lot of Earthquakes, there was a big one but its not like there has been a recent dramatic increase in the number of Earthquakes. I dont know, but I have been looking into this stuff.

Mick, they are almost there:

They are still making a new story up to convince the readers.
They are also linking it to Elenin. Apparently there was a kinda-sorta alignment of Earth, Sun, and Elenin at the time. You know how 2012ers are about alignments.
elenin sounds pritty dangerous when i googled it there is debris following it and its said to go past into earths orbit? can't have proof of this since it was on just a random google link .. but u know how it is .. like to get these things cleared up
nope, no danger there at all. We have a thread going on Comet Elenine. This is from Obaeyens' post there.
"It is going to pass at 34,000,000 km that is 88.5 times further than the Moon.
It is about 1/4th the distance of the Earth to the Sun.
To put it in perspective, Venus is 38,000,000 km at its closest and no collisions there."
We passed through the tail of Halley's Comet in 1910. People thought the world was going to end then because there was cyanide detected in the tail. It was in such a small amount and so spread out that it had no effect whatever. A comet's tail consists of dust and gases resulting from vaporization of part of the comet when it nears the Sun. I haven't found anything about any "debris" following Comet Elenin except on crackpot sites. I wouldn't expect to be anywhere near its tail, however, since its closest approach is 34 million kilometers
I doubt we'd get anything from Elenin (we might of course, I'm not sure of it's exact path through the solar system), but we regularly travel through 100odd tons of rubbish a day at least, rubbish being rock, dirt and dust in the form of meteors. Meteor showers are periods in our orbit around the Sun where we regularly pass through debris fields if you will, an ideal time to enjoy the spectacle of 'shooting stars' and that's about it.
Korky, we pass through the "debris" left by comets all the time. For example, perhaps you've heard of the Perseid and Leonid meteor showers. Both of these yearly light shows involve Earth passing through trails of comet dust. There are literally dozens of such events. No threat whatsoever, just cool to look at.
