Hello,

When i type in 2012 in google this site appears on the first page, but not before a few other silly websites. I can live with the imdb site for the film 2012(and i doubt we could overtake it anyway), but it would be nice if immediately after this site was in the results rather than all the other crap.

Is there anything we can do to get this site further up to the top of google search results?

It helps when a lot of other web sites link to this site.
If you have a personal web page, then put a link to this.
If you know other friends that have web pages, then ask them to put a link to this.

But it is very hard to get ahead of the hoaxers since they have build a complete industry around it to scam people.

I'm completely stoked that we're up to the first page now… we used to be on page 7!

The best thing to do is to keep linking this site from other sites. There are some maintenance chores on the site that would also help, if you're interested?

Two things need to be done on a regular basis: 1) assess the keywords being used, and fine tune the meta text on each page to match those, and 2) sweep the pages for dead links. I've recently had an increase in my workload at my "day" job, so I haven't had as much time to do this as is necessary.

If you want to take on a couple of pages, 'adopt' them, so to speak, and do these things on a regular basis, that will help boost our rankings.

I hate to unstoke you, but I just googled 2012 and we didn't come up until page 7. I did 2012 debunking and we are number 1 on page 1. Searching 2012 hoax comes up the same first on page 1.

Yeah, i must've googled 2012 + something else cause this site is still on page 7 when you search 2012 on it's own.

Hopefully with more traffic this site will appear earlier in the results. Just have to do what we can to get this place more exposure.
