Not sure if I should trust comments from CNN's website, but I see a few people mentioning how snowfall and rain will carry the radiation from Japan. But I don't really remember anything saying that, and I'm sure my states news would have said something about it.

Is it possible some of the news stations in other states are saying this just for views? I know the slogan "Fear sells" but it seems a bit extreme. Well… there is 2012.

It is possible to detect certain radio-active isotopes of water-soluble elements (such as iodine) at levels far below anything that would have an effect on you. In fact, the detection levels are going to be far below the levels of the normal background radiation you receive all of the time.

There's been a few spots of radiation detected here in England, but it's said to be lower than the levels found in your typical household.

I think yes, but it's a low amount of radiation. Harmless.
I'd not worry about it.
