ok so I know I'm crazy that I watched history channel but they aired this documentary called the cosmic apocalypse. It says that the sun will turn to ice and so instead of fire, we are going to perish because of ice age. And then the galaxy stuffs are drifting apart and every thing in the solar system will explode plus all of our planets. Please answer this questions. Thank

Well, the Sun's got about 4 or 5 billion years to go.
I've never heard of a theory of the solar system 'exploding' and it sounds extremely unlikely. These are events which, if they take place at all, will not occur many billions or trillions of years, so the idea that 'we are going to perish' is wide of the mark. As for the universe, one theory is that it will suffer 'heat death' where all energy is dissipated. This is expected to take approximately 10¹⁰⁰ years (that's a 1 followed by 100 zeroes).
There's no immediate need to cancel your holidays or cash in your insurance policies.

The sun does not have enough mass to explode.
Galaxies drifting apart has nothing to do with the sun.
Planets cannot explode.

What could happen is that Earth gets swallowed up by the growing sun in the year 4,500,000,000 from now.

Hi Keona,
You're correct, you shouldn't watch the Hysteria Channel. Those aren't documentaries, they are orgies of wild speculation. The Sun is going to expand, heat up, and become a red giant in about 5 billion years. It will remain a red giant for more billions before it blows off its outer layers and becomes a white dwarf. In about 10^17 years, that's 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 (1 quintillion years), it will cool and become a black dwarf. I don't plan to be around in 100 years, let alone billions or quintillions of years, so I'm not too worried, we have some time.

Their claims might be as unlikely as gama ray bursts. They usually put fameless scientists - which have their own little research center in their underground garage and saying that "a part of NASA is studying the same stuff as I am studying here" - on the documentaries. They may sound scary to the TV viewers or - occasionally - laughable to other scientists.
That's the life on Histeria Channel.
