ok this guy claims he has some sort of stolen photos of the object behind the sun that nasa is hiding from us and wont tell us about.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9CoPlZYs4s
forward the video to 3:10 thats when he actualy shows you his soho images.
5:11 he explains in his charts why it cant be mercury or venus
and in 5:25 is a footage of a sunrise with the object…
please someone explain this to me
thank you.
How can NASA hide an object behind the sun?
Wait a few months and the object should pop into plain view fro anyone with a telescope and binocular.
In cause you might not realize, Earth moves around the Sun so in about 90 days we made an arc of 90 degrees.
so what the hell os that object?
It doesn't matter what it is, because obaeyens just explained to you why it's impossible for any object to hide behind the Sun. Do you seriously believe it isn't Mercury or Venus just because some guy on YouTube says so? Some quick points:
- He clearly doesn't understand anything about SOHO, which does not record video.
- He also [deliberately] chopped the time stamps off the images, so we have almost nothing to go on. They're probably Photoshop jobs.
- He shows you images from SOHO, but then he uses the positions of the two STEREO satellites to show you how it "can't" be Mercury or Venus. Those are different spacecraft in different orbits. He either doesn't know this, or he knows fully well but is hoping you don't. Also, as mentioned above, he provides no date and time, so we have no idea what should be there.
- The UCLA sequence is from 2003, and you're looking at a very bright Venus (magnitude -3.77) and Mercury (magnitude 1.17). To the upper right, out of frame, is the Moon. To the lower left the Sun rises. There is no unknown object in these images. You can verify this in any planetarium software like Stellarium. Just set the date to May 27, 2003.
In true woo form, he wraps up his presentation of lies with the standard "Do your research" line. Well, if you do, you can easily discover that he's full of it.
THE OBJECT BEHIND THE SUN!!!! PROOF!!
Hysterical thread titles like this are completely unnecessary. I still question whether you're actually here for "help."
thanks for your reply juju it helped
but then at the end you questioned why im here again
so let me say thank you again for helping and if you want to keep on helping me understand i will appreciate it even more
but if you accuse me when im obviously in fear of these things i see on youtube then just dont reply to my posts at all
because it realy sucks when people dont believe you
and the post topic was the object behing the sun with proof
just like it is on youtube
i didnt mean to scare no one
thanks and have a good day
but if you accuse me when im obviously in fear of these things i see on youtube then just dont reply to my posts at all
because it realy sucks when people dont believe you
You aren't obviously in fear of anything. You're claiming to be, but your demeanor and thread titles suggest otherwise. Regardless, I addressed the video you linked to. Take it or leave it, as it were, and please consider using some less hysterical thread titles in the future.
Here's a little hint to go by: If you see a video on YouTube that is showing off that kind of imagery from STEREO (not SOHO, but if they are showing imagery from SOHO the next bit applies too), get ready to ignore it, because there are bound to be so many errors spewing forth from it that you'll be a confused wreck in no time.
But, seeing as it's been a while since I bothered with YouTube, and seeing as this is popular on the bastion of credibility, godlikeproductions and beforeitsnews (sarcasm: these sites are full of conspiracy theory nonsense), it's worth a debunking. This is going to be long…
The opening is incredibly wishy washy in wording, and then blam! An apparent lie about video footage. Only the STEREO craft are able to view behind the Sun, and they do not have the means to record video. While the author/director/whatever could have been referring to a movie that simply shows you a bunch of still images in a sequence, why would it be necessary - in an edited video - to reveal that you can't get something to work? It makes no sense, and the first time I heard it, it smacked of saying "you'll have to trust us when we say we've got something, but we'll never show it".
Nobody risks their jobs and their lives in getting data from STEREO out there. In fact, you're able to get access to the data at pretty much the same time as NASA do - NASA themselves have to wait for other people to process the data from their own satellites. How do I know this? I did the shockingly simply thing of e-mailing them and asking some questions. Anyway, the whole threat of death for revealing information is classic conspiracy theorist bull. It's essentially trying to make the author into a hero for in turn 'risking his life' getting it out the people, like some kind of digital Robin Hood, despite the data being freely available to anyone with Internet access.
NASA do not regenerate millions of photos on a daily basis. As I've just said, they don't even process them themselves, and there aren't even millions of images taken, the satellites simply aren't capable of such a feat, even if you've got 4 of them now looking at the Sun. The whole idea of a 35 day regeneration process is laughable, especially considering, as we've said before, anyone with the Internet can access the data at near the same time as NASA themselves.
"This" is NOT a raw photo (3:04 if you want a timecode). That's what you'll get after the images have been retrieved from the satellite and processed. If you've got the right software, you can look at the .fits files instead, which is a filetype designed for scientific data. The only time I've seen a .fits file in a YouTube video was in one (or maybe two) of mine, when I was debunking yet another wild claim. Proponents like pretty pictures, and they like to pick out the tiniest bit of nothing to focus in on.
Case in point, is what we're meant to look at (or squint at) over at 3:17ish. This is not an object. If it were a physical object behind the sun, the Sun would light it up in the same way it does every other planet, which in turn would appear like a bright starlike spot within this imagery. If it were a physical object, it would NOT look like a crescent moon - being lit from the wrong side I might add - just hanging in the image.
Unfortunately, the date stamp is cropped off the images, as is often the case with proponents videos, so we can't put it up against something as simple as a map. Because however it doesn't show the characteristics of a physical object from that instruments point of view, we can rule out it being a physical object, simple as that. Most likely an image artifact, it could even be something on the lens or within the instrument that keeps getting recorded, but it's not an object behind the Sun.
I don't know who they keep supposedly talking to, I doubt it's anyone from a logical place to ask - you know, like someone from the STEREO mission team, or as I asked aeons ago, someone from the team who process the images. Note the wording he used. He said they backed off from asking NASA, and then gave ideas as to what he thought they might have said. Surely if he asked NASA, he'd be able to quote what they said to him, no? Maybe I should email the guys who process the images after finishing this rambling novel of an email and see what they say.
"The object seems to be coming in from the far right side of our Sun." Relative to what, exactly? These guys aren't even prepared to tell you which satellite these images come from (luckily, I know that they're from the COR2 instrument of STEREO-A - it'd be easy to work out if they didn't crop off this piece of info from the top of every single image they use…). Seeing as we know exactly where STEREO-A is, and exactly where it's instruments are pointing, as well as being able to get a second or third angle from other satellites, we can estimate where an object would be (not in this case of course, because we aren't looking at an object).
If it stays roughly in the same position, we can make one of two conclusions. It happens to orbit the Sun in such a way that STEREO-A always has it in the same place in it's imagery, or, like a fleck of dirt on your camera lens, it's always in the same place because it's slap bang in front of STEREO-A. If we've ruled out that it's an object, I think you can see which is the stronger conclusion. We're looking at something on or in STEREO-A's COR2 instrument, not something behind the Sun.
"But this is missing" is bull too, I've just stuck in a random date for last month and lo and behold, it still appears. Perhaps their 35 day regeneration cycle hasn't caught it yet, dun dun dun… shame my random date was the 3rd of March, well over 35 days ago. I do hope you're getting the idea of what I think of this video by now.
What good are charts of satellite positions if you crop of the date? Oh yeah! They're useless! This means nothing. The reason dates are handy is that they allow us to see what objects were where and when, even allowing us to work out what background stars in view or what constellations the satellites are looking at. No dates, no easy method to double check and no easy method to debunk.
The UCLA I guess it's a CCTV camera or time lapse camera does show a date, thankfully, and we can use programs like Stellarium to plug in the location of that camera as best we can, roll back time to May 27th and see what was in view. Alarmingly, the full timecode of that camera appears to be May 27th 03 04:28:24 and so on. If it's from 2003, the STEREO satellites hadn't even launched yet. If it's from 2008, you'll be closer, but we can still see what was in the sky at the time (which appears to be the Moon in both cases…).
Then they have the balls to suggest it's as simple as doing the research. I do get annoyed when people selectively research things, rather than objectively do so.
What are we left with at the end of the video? Nonsense. Proof of nonsense. Proof of ignorance. Proof that conspiracy theorists will go to great lengths to try to get their points across, and will succeed in getting people like you concerned, when all it takes is a few minutes and some basic understanding of the satellites - handily explained on the website you can freely pull images from, no less - in order to show the claims as bunk.
Knowing you contacted Mr Elenin, I'm off to contact the guys at the NRL to give you that added piece of mind. I've written enough myself, really. Stick around.
I'm sorry. I'm not an astronomer so I can't answer that question directly but… if that object is going to be visible in a few months anyway then probably NASA had no serious reason to report it out loud. If you think about it, then that means that this object is harmless or possibly… not real.
Our fears are more numerous than our dangers, and we suffer more in our imagination than in reality.
thanks for that comment
im waiting for someone to debunk this
its freaking me out
I'm also starting to think you are trying to promote this 2012 stuff, you have created several threads here, all with hysterical titles with !!!!'s after them all. Either your trying to promote it, or you aren't very good at avoiding crap that scares you. Accusing us of working for NASA and posting these threads aren't the best way to receive help.
The great thing about science is, it's true whether you believe in it or not.
This guy is faking big time.
Note how he removed any traces at the photos to trace back what date and who or what took it.
He even fakes the position of the planets.
The object was 7 April 2011. This is the position of the planets for that date!
http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/5018/planets20010407.jpg
It clearly shows Venus viewed from Stereo B
And he is disillusion since he think that people would risk their lives in giving this information.
He is just making it up as he goes.
thanks alot obaeyens!!
you are the only one that is consistant on helping me debunk things im scared of instead of blaming me on being some sort of spy and i thank you for that
one thing i dont understand is why the hell do people do that?
i mean clearly this guy is not trying to sell me anything
is it just for attention or youtube views?
whats your opinion on that?
David, your actions trigger alarm bells with with anyone here.
Do you understand what actions you do that trigger these alarm bells into believing that you are not as honest as you claim to be?
The moment you stop doing this, people will give you a chance and believe you.
honestly lol no i have no clue what i have done wrong with this post now…
about the other post i have already apologyzed
i have givin up on trying explain to everyone that my fears are real
Ok, assuming your fears are real, I'll ask you this question. Why do you keep finding these silly claims? Iv saw you post on every stupid "theory" regarding 2012, from cme's to crop circles. So I'm going to assume your either wilfully looking for this crap, finding it, and coming here in a blind panic, or searching for these things and posting them here to keep people in doubt. The whole "this site makes me wonder" thread was enough to set my alarm bells ringing, now this latest post also seems to be a "NASA controls the world" type thing. If I'm wrong, I appologise, but first I'd like you to quit looking for crap on the Internet, and as juju said I'd also cut down on the "OMG WE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!!" type of thread topics.
The great thing about science is, it's true whether you believe in it or not.
well your rite about 1 thing and thats me searching for all the info i can find i know its bad for me
but i cant help it!! :( iv tried.
and why would i post these things here to keep people in doubt?
what would be my motive?
im not trying to sell anything.
i have posted the topic as it is on youtube.
sorry again if it makes anyone mad.
didnt mean to
Well you need to try harder to stop looking for that nonsense, I feel like I'm repeating myself over and over saying this, but people seem to be gluttons for punishment. All I can say is don't go to woo sites and stay away from stupid videos on YouTube. If you need info it's all down the left of this very page. Read it, and give your brain a break from conspiracies.
The great thing about science is, it's true whether you believe in it or not.
Alrighty then, proving "asking someone who knows" to be the best form of information gathering, here's the response from the Naval Research Laboratory who process the images from numerous instruments on STEREO, including the instrument we care about in this thread, COR2 on STEREO-A (SECCHI, if you wanted to know, stands for 'Sun Earth Connection Coronal and Heliospheric Investigation', the name of the suite of instruments of which COR2 is one of five I think).
Note that the date is Jan 1st 2008. If you wanted, you could go through the archives for any date and you'd see the same thing in the same place. Why? Let's read:
So it could be one of two things you're pointing at. To clarify, I made the attached png which is a screenshot of a randomly picked raw (i.e. no processing) COR2-A data file from January 2008. The file can be obtained here: http://stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov/data/ins_data/secchi/L0/a/img/cor2/20080101/20080101_075254_d4c2A.fts1
I suspect that what folks are looking at is the curved piece of dust/debris that is stuck to the lens. This has been there since the launch of the mission. It was of course unintentional and undesirable, but these things can happen under the extreme stress of launch as things get jostled around a tad… (I don't recall us ever noticing it during ground testing, but I could be wrong).
The alternate thing that you might be looking at is the base of the occulter pylon — the arm that hold the solid disk (the "occulter") in the center of the instrument. We placed the arm such that it is largely invisible in the images, but it is certainly detectable particularly in the unprocessed data.
So there's your answer. A speck of dust.
Took one email to the right people, and finding the right people involved clicking a link on the STEREO website (by the way, I'm not saying you guys should or could have done this, just saying that it really is a simple procedure to find someone with information on the subject, and in turn debunk the claims). I wonder why the guy(s) behind the video couldn't do this…
Ooooh noooo, giant dust is out to get us all, hiiide people, it's so scary!!
Thank you so much for your huge wall of text comment, 3WMElliott. I really enjoyed reading that. Also, i would really like to see this guy's reaction to it, if he where to read it. Reading his comment on YouTube he seems to be full of him self, a typical "I ignore what everybody says, and make up my own stuff!" kinda guy.
- “I fear one day I'll meet God, he'll sneeze and I won't know what to say.”
Mmyeas, the great wall of text, the only part of this forum visible from the STEREO satellites.
From what little I glanced at from the comments, most of them were of him typing/shouting in block caps, so I wonder if the video has gone down well, so to speak. It's evidently got the view count, not too hard when the likes of GLP pick it up.
it appears other people are telling him to back off. One of his comment is about "If you cant respect me, dont comment my vid." So yearh. Sad thing about YouTube is that people can hide comments they dont want others to read. Typical conspiracy people.
- “I fear one day I'll meet God, he'll sneeze and I won't know what to say.”
Only one person mentioned dust as a theory. And now that I've replied to that one person, two people.
I'm not advocating raiding the comment section with some sense and reasoned logic, but I do see some familiar proponent names chipping in there too.
It may be time to dust off my editing software, no pun intended…
Haha, he blocked commenting on his vid!
- “I fear one day I'll meet God, he'll sneeze and I won't know what to say.”
I see the entire comment section has been disabled, so something must have been said.
There was another post about this already , please stop going to woo sites
No man knows the day nor the hour when the world will end.
Become a debunker and help out those that are being fed up with lies spread by False scientists going after you'r money.
Practice what you want to and dont give up on you'r dreams my dream is to become a basketball player 'NBA'
awesomeee sounds like your lecturing me for going to woo sites when im pretty sure
you spammed the sh*t out this forum with your woo sites and links as well
this is only my third post
guys there is now talk about this as well
the image i have showed here in the link
is now in music videos
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71rueWtPs7A&feature=related
its the same guy posting his new discovery
have a look
Ever seen the intro to 2001: A Space Odyssey? I guess Stanley Kubrick knew not only of the STEREO mission launched 7 years after his death, but that one of those satellites would even be afflicted with dust in the lens. Oh no, my mistake, he was using a little thing called his artistic license to create an iconic image.
I do hope you aren't being swept up in the whole 'media being used to prepare people' nonsense there david.
i dont even know whats real and whats not anymore
i appreciate your explanation for these issues
but every day now has been a day of fear for me
sometimes i wake up from my sleep because anxiety and fear are taking control over my body
i think i need to see a doctor
i dont know what is real and what is fake anymore
i dont know what to believe and who to believe
why are these people scaring the public?
some dont even have anything to sell no book and no kits or bunkers
they claim they just post their messages to help people out

this lady has predicted japan quake and chile quake
im am too scared she tells in her videos the name leonid elenin is a code name and not a real name
leonid = means meteor shower
ELENIN= extiction level event number nine
im sure youl find this video interesting if you believe her or not
its still a logical theory of hers or maybe its not
im waiting for your reply thanks again and i appreciate all your replies and help
Still looking at those woo sites and silly YouTube videos eh David? You are never going to feel better if you keep that up. Look at this thread, you have asked a few questions, the claims are quickly and easily debunked, and you run off and find another one. This is like going round in a circle. If you can't sleep you need to seek medical help, and quickly. Your mental health is now affecting your physical state and that is never a good thing. Everyone here will attempt to help you, but until you quit going round and round in this vicious cycle you aren't going to even begin to feel better.
The great thing about science is, it's true whether you believe in it or not.
Leonid Elenin is a real person. I've exchanged emails with him, and I'm trying to set up an interview with him.
I found at least 40 people in the US with the surname 'Elenin'
"Do you ever think about things you do think about?" - Henry Drummond to Matthew Harrison Brady in Inherit the Wind
i think i need to see a doctor
You need to see someone that isn't us, yes, be they doctor, psychologist, whatever you can afford or are comfortable with, and I'm sure there are other options there as well.
this lady has predicted japan quake and chile quake
David, you and I, right now, can predict earthquakes. They are statistically in your favour, if all you say are the words 'there will be an Earthquake'. Don't say how strong it will be, don't say where, and you'll be 100% accurate. You can even predict it to happen on any date you wish, and an earthquake will occur on that date, they are that common. You might even get 'lucky' and 'predict' a notable earthquake, one that makes the headlines. You'll have tougher odds, but it's far from impossible.
leonid = means meteor shower
Not quite, but there is a meteor shower called the Leonids. Do you know how often you've lived through the Leonid meteor shower? For every mid November you've spent on this planet David, for every mid November your family, your parents, your kids have spent on this planet, you'll have lived through the Leonids. There is not a month in the calendar, perhaps even not a week in the calendar where a meteor shower does not occur in the skies above Earth.
ELENIN= extiction level event number nine
No, Elenin = Leonid Elenin's surname. In the same way an SOS call does not mean Save Our Souls (SOS is just a clear signal in Morse code, it 'translates' to / it means Mayday), Elenin does not mean Extinction Level Event Number Nine, or even Extinction Level Event: Nibiru Is Near. Both are backronyms, people putting words to letters that already exist, rather than proper acronyms that put letters to words that exist. I'm sure we could make a doomsday claim derived from your name, let alone that of Mr. Elenin's.
thank you guys for your comments
and gary i am trying my best to avoid youtube videos
but they just pop up in my face and i click it out of curiousity
the first time i even heard about 2012 was when i was listening to music on youtube and i saw the video links on the side wile i was listening and i clicked it!!
screw that day !!
i wish i could turn back time i would of never clicked
i want you guys to know that even tho i am looking at these videos and i keep posting links for you to debunk helps me alot!!
it calms me down for a while its better than not calming down at all and i am greatful for that
btw i didnt want to mention this but i will now
this issue is even more difficult for me since i suffer from anxiety
i have been suffering from anxiety for 10 years now
i take clonazepham and seroxat for this condition
i felt like i needed to tell this to you guys
maybe it will make you understnd why it is diffucult for me to stop searching for answers
thanks once again and god bless
actually, that does help us understand… and you're not alone here. Many of the people who have been taken in by this hoax are prone to anxiety.
"Do you ever think about things you do think about?" - Henry Drummond to Matthew Harrison Brady in Inherit the Wind
If you have suffered anxiety for 10 years, you should know that it's an irrational fear. You should also know that due to your anxiety your critical thinking and general skepticism will be all but non existent in a time of high anxiety, So the last place you should be is wallowing in a world of doom, gloom and conspiracy theories. Iv been there David, I understand how you feel, but you know this is all in your head. Honestly, if I were you, I'd avoid the Internet completely, do things with your family, remind yourself that the world isn't a dull grey evil place, and there isn't a countdown to the end of the world.
The great thing about science is, it's true whether you believe in it or not.
but they just pop up in my face and i click it out of curiousity
So don't let them pop up. If you're going to watch a video on YouTube, care of watching just videos that you really want to watch. The curiosity can bring you bad things, like anxiety. If you know they are woo, so why do you need to watch them? Don't waste your time with those videos. Stay away from them.
the first time i even heard about 2012 was when i was listening to music on youtube and i saw the video links on the side wile i was listening and i clicked it!!
That's what happens. The famous "sidebar videos" are the videos who always bring you fear and anxiety, so simply avoid those videos.
i wish i could turn back time i would of never clicked
Correction: unfortunately, you would, soon or later hear about 2012.
maybe it will make you understnd why it is diffucult for me to stop searching for answers
If it's so difficult to stop searching for answers, so stop looking for questions.
Youtube really does suck at times :/
Wish people would just get on with their lives and be happy :( all this fear and stuff really makes me sad I hate scaremongers ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.
